T.J. Highes usually have a good range of Vacuum Cleaners at substantially reduced prices. Worth a look?0

@Southend
It should still be under guarantee, you should give Vax a call and see what they say, they've been very helpful with me.
HP x
Thanks HP maybe I will call them. Tbh I thought it might be a waste of time as it was my fault really, though as I said the plastic is very brittle on the tool holder.0 -
My Henry recently started to drag on carpets. The chrome part of the floor head had become coated in something sticky. Cleaned with WD40, good as new now.We have a Henry and found him excellent on wooden floors or vinyl, but hard going on some carpets.
Another vote for Henry. More than enough suction, very large dustbag and a massive cleaning range. When I use other vacuums it annoys me having to stop and find somewhere nearer to plug in as I move around. I clean my whole flat from one plug socket without stopping. I also find the manual cord rewind simpler than automatic ones.0 -
I got a
Vax U91-MA-B
its lightweight, really good suction and really reliable.
The other half was set on a Dyson, but now I doubt she'll ever look at one again (may be a bit better, but 2-3X the cost.)0 -
Another vote for Henry..........his only downside is being pretty heavy."I'm ready for my close-up Mr. DeMille...."0

Another vote for a henry, really good suction and not scared of some hard work, just be careful what you are sucking up as a bit of a nightmare if something gets stuck. Wouldn't go anywhere near vax though, had alot of problems with our pet vacuum and they kept sending me more and more parts, saying they realise the vacuum had issues with certain parts, we were asking for a refund for over 7 months and they just kept saying ' these new parts will fix your problems' but they didn't. In the end we went back to the retailer for our money back. Seems like Vax rush out their products without trying them first, so have to keep replacing the parts that don't last.
Henry all the way!Hopeful optimistic.0 -
I love my Henry, my last one I had for 10 years, when he died I bought a hoover that was supposedly great for pet hairs, the wheels fell off within 2 weeks! and it was downhill from there. My new Henry has more suction power than the old one, and the best bit is that it hoovers top shelves and the top of curtains and doesn't mind Barbie bits and lego.0

The Miele S2111 is reduced to £119 in Currys at the moment.
Was in there on Sunday, looking at the various Miele models on display. We asked the first staff we saw for advice: they turned out to be the Hoover and Dyson sales reps. Says something that they both told us to buy a Miele, and one admitted owning one for 10 years that still worked as well as the day she'd bought it!0 -
+1 for a Miele here. 10 years old and works as well as the day I bought it. Best to use the proper bags though as the cheap ones affect the suction.0

Henry scores 52% on Which? because it is scored down for being poor at pet hairs and stairs. For everything else it is the best for the money. It is also popular with tradesmen as it handles anything and never breaks down.0
