weird SE k750i problem

someone i know has a k750i which has a weird problem.

when they open the shutter on the back, it does not respond (ie. open the camera app). however, if you go into the camera via the main menu it doesn't say 'open lens cover' like mine does. it will still take pics.

i thought that it would be a camera flex issue (something like the switch has been jammed in the open position), but i cant decide if it is a hardware or software issue.

if it helps it it an o2 branded one (but i dont know the firmware version, unfortunately)

The problem you've mentioned is hardware. I doubt they built the software to work against the original design.

The problem I've experienced with my K750i is sometimes it shows a random single digit when it is keylocked. I've experienced the same with a much earlier SE phone too. Is it just me?
    I know nothing

    Is the number a 1 or a 9?
If so could be the first digit of the emergency numbers ie 999, 112 (europe). It happens on my phone too.

That's precisely right 1 or 9. So what does it mean?

From what I'm told the phone supports the international emergancy numbers, for example 112 and 911 and 999. This means that these numbres can normally be used to make an emergancy call in any country with or without a simcard inserted if a Gsm network is within range.

To view your local emergancy numbers press contact, options, special numbers, emergancy Nos

is it the microswitch under the back cover, part of the camera flex or you can unsolder the four connections and just fit a new switch.

    k750i camera problems,

    software:
camera driver, re-flash, check camera driver is listed in service menu after,

    hardware:
flex/microswitch broken/connector come out of socket, replace flex/microswitch push connector back in,

    actually camera broken, replace camera,

camera driver ic dry/broken, re-flow/replace ic,

connector which flex plugs into on pcb, replace connector,

all from experience, not copied from web,
