I went to Franky and Benny's for a family meal last month and if I ever go again I'm having me a kids' meal! Their pizzas were as big as the ones on the adult menu and so were the desserts! All for £3.50.......

Are they funny about things like that? ;)

And the drinks that come with the kids meals are so much better - they come with crushed ice and everything!

When my kids were little we were invited to a friend's house for a meal. I remember first being disappointed that she fed all the kids first, then that they were given fish fingers and chips, whilst the adults had a lovely beef casserole. I know which my kids would have preferred, given the choice.
Glad, OP that one sensible member of the group has made contact. Hope it proves a great friendship without petty issues.
  • My son is 7 and looks in disgust at the kids menus as he doesn't like chips! He eats loads, we went out for an Indian last week and he ate half of my garlic chicken starter, a full chicken passanda, rice and a naan bread.....oh and the free mints and oranges! The majority of kids menus are shocking in my opinion.

My son is a very fussy eater and pretty much exists on weetabix, yoghurt, toast and pizza, occassionally I can get him to eat cauliflower cheese.

He once ate a woodlouse when he was about 12 months old, does that count? :rotfl:

as a child even founder than 9, i ordered a starter from the adult menu, even a main course sometimes. It wasn't because i was spoiled but because i had both a larger appetite than normal children and also i had been brought up to enjoy a wide variety of foods which if you look at a children's menu, its hardly ever varied. usually all with chips.

don't feel bad, be proud your child enjoys food outside of basic children's menus. :)

In a probably ill-advised moment late last night I decided to post something after someone commented about parents giving in when their child whines for something. I said, "Couldn't agree more X, there is very little worse than a spoilt whingey child. Comes second only to two-faced, snippy adults imo."

It seemed like a good idea at the time :rotfl: Needless to say I'll not be going back. The nice Mum and another that she knows who used to go to the group, but left because she didn't like it are coming round for lunch and a playdate tomorrow so that'll be good. Think we'll just start our own splinter group.

Well done you!!:T:T:T You were quite right to pull them up on their behaviour :)

And what a good result! Wouldn't be surprised if a couple more don't find the guts to drift away from them and into the splinter group :)

Just what would they say if I came along with my DGDs.....2 will order lobster (!) and 3rd would order veggies only!!!!

If I'm paying, I'm the only one who should be concerned at what they're eating ....and as long as they'll eat it, I'll pay for it!

    Love your response, Gemma!!
