In regards to ATMs and nobody caring — I'm just curious, and it's embarrassing to have ugly cards in your wallet ;)

You can personalise your own card with Barclays depending on the account type.

Sorry, but I just have this scenario of you being knocked unconscious by a bus I]I sincerely hope not![/I and after the ambulance has been called, the policeman looks in your wallet to discover who you are and says "Poor fellow.....I]and then suddenly[/I OMG it's worse than I thought - he has a Metro Bank debit card!"

Man, dunno if its cause im drunk, but i used to think people cared about your card, but they dont haha. if your card looks crap it still has the same ammount of money on it as it would with a coutts debit card. just think about what the bank offers and not the card design. go with the best deal and not the design. trust me.

I am the original poster, and just reporting back:

I opened an account with MetroBank, and can confirm that the debit card looks better than NatWest's piece of crud.

It looks fine, no problems. I was told in branch that they will be changing the cards soon anyway.

Loving Metro Bank :)

They even have bowls for your doggies to drink from while they wait :)

Best of all, this card has a great foreign exchange rate — so perfect for spending abroad and saving as much money as possible!
• I am about half hours walk from the metro bank and seriously considered opening up an account there but chose Lloyds instead.

Sorry but don't quite share your passion for how debit cards looks.

Surely if you have flashy gold, platinum, black cards, you'll be more of a target for being mugged if you keep flashing them in public?
