Most obvious I can think of is cut them up for dish and floor cloths.Or I'm sure animal rescue centers would be glad of them. How does a brown cow give white milk, when it only eats green grass?0

I'm going to dig out some old towels and either line the curtains ready for winter or use them to block off the draught coming under the front door
Would love to know what other suggestions people have :j0 -
i keep an old towel in the bathroom to wipe round the bath/sink when theyve been used0

me and my little girl have spent allday making snakes for the bottom of our doors for winter with our old towels had great fun .0

I cut them up for floor cloths (wiping spills) or cloths for cleaning the car/garden tools etc. Any dirty job that I'd prefer not to spoil my microfibre cloths on! Also keep a couple under the sink ready to grab if there is a big spill on the carpet, furniture etc.0

I do as everyone else but also give the remainder to my mobile hairdresser and she uses some for work and some for her horse so well used. Otherwise I would give them to a local charity shop.0

I have recently bought a load of new towels because my old ones had gone really hard and some were getting a bit threadbare too.
When I had a dog,I used to use old towels to dry him after giving him a bath or when he had been out in the rain.
Since I have become more OS,I am loathe to throw anything away if I can find a use for it,so I would welcome suggestions for what to do with my towels.
Hi Annie,
I see you are in Norfolk, a while back the Wildlife Centre there was appealing for towels for the rescued seals.

your local homeless shelter would be very grateful for them, i'm sure. same for any spare bedding.Mum to gorgeous baby boy born Sept 2010:j0

Homeless centres or animal rescues would be my suggestion aswell. Every freecycle ad for offfered towels or linen I offer to take them to a local rescue place. One day I might be more organised...........
