Hi there, weather grey and trying to rain here, send us some sun if you have any to spare:) Trying to tidy house but keep getting sidetracked, must go and get dinner ready as we want to take Jack to the lake for a swim. Hugs to all in need esp your DD Moorhen I hope they get the girls who did it and I hope she will not lose her confidence to go out. Have a good day all:)

Mucky_moo - the Super 6 was mixed peppers (3pack), baking potatoes, large vine tomatoes, funsize apples, plums and nectarines, all at 69p. There is a Super 6 thread here but it doesn't always get updated until someone has been to the store on the Sunday, although occasionally someone gives a heads up day before.

Well I am already officially bored and still have 8 days off work :rotfl:I'm useless without having plans, especially in the rain.

House is spotless - I've hoovered, washed dishes, dusted, tidied, sorted out spare room, unpacked last box from my house move (7 months ago :rotfl:), sorted my digital photo frame, put clothes away, and been to shops. Bought 12 cartons on UHT milk from Lidl as they were 24p each, and a huge 5kg sack of onions for £1.29!

  • Hi everyone

Sorry I havent been around for a while.

Ive been feeling a bit down about things. Im currently living with family (renting) and it looks like this will be for quite a while.

Im not actually unhappy but I find I dont have the same enthusiasm about looking after the home as I did when I had a home of my own that I had bought. I need to keep reminding myself that its our home and I should still want it nice but I hreally have to force myself to do the cleaning and home making stuff.

In addition, I feel lonely. I have one good friend but she lives over an hour away so we dont meet up very often although we do text and email most days.

I am paying off some debt so going out and buying clothes etc is not a good idea at present. As a consequence, I dont go out at weekends.

I have taken the plunge and agreed to go to a local book club meeting next week - I joined the book club a while ago online but havent been able to find the courage to actually go to a meeting and meet anyone. So, I am going to try and go to the meeting next week and hopefully make some new friends. It would be nice to be able to call someone to meet up for a coffee on a saturday or something like that.

Anyway, sorry for my long moan! On the plus side, I love my job so thats good! And I also feel that I have managed to get my spending under control and have sorted out a budget for myself that I think I can stick to.

OS wise I have done all the cleaning, walked the dog, cleaned the oven. Still need to run the hoover over in the lounge and mop a couple of patches on the wood floors.

    Have a great day everyone.

    Good afternoon Hester and all,

Moorhen i'm so sorry to hear of what your daughter went through. Oh how i wish we could wrap our children up in cotton wool like they were babies! I am running out of excuses as to why my son cant be out after dark. As it is, his curfew is 10.30 on a weeknight (just before the pubs shut) and his Dad is nagged (by me) to fetch him on weekends. Both my husband and son think i'm a bit over protective and i probably am but like i said before i am running out of excuses. Still, he will be 17 in a few months and old enough to learn to drive.

Not much going on in my house today, hubby has finished the decorating and all his tools are put away. Thats the whole of the house decorated now.

Lucy dog is limping today, we might have to take her to the vet if things dont improve. Ive checked her claws and they dont seem to be too long so it must be her joints. I'll keep an eye on her.

Cant believe its 4pm. Where has the day gone?

    Happy Sunday evening peeps :)

good day all, hope you are all enjoying the sun.

This heat is not for me at all, helped No1 son move flats this morning, hour and half driving round in this heat is not pleasant.

Going back to work tomorrow after annual leave, so going to be a bit of a wrench having to get back into the routine. Starting with a meeting at 8:30 hopefully it will be cooler.

take care all and think happy thoughts
Never put off till tomorrow what you can do today!
Cos if you do it today and like it...You can do it again tomorrow.. :p

flutterby - thankyou for the recipe. My souphas a bit of a bitter aftertaste ( as celery does) so i'll try and find a way to get rid of it and then it will be amazing.

Trying to cut back - im in the same situation where I moved to a new area to be with my bf and got a job here. he kept me very isolated so I couldnt see my camily and friends for ages. i now have my sil in the are but as she is pregnant so she and my bro spend a lot of time together and i dont want to disturb them.
I looked online to find all sorts of groups in the area but havnt got the courage to pick one yet. well done you for signing up for one. if we lived in the same area i wouldnt mind meeting up

Syman - hope the move went well

Hope you all had a good day and remembered to wear suncream

    Good evening all,

Moorhen,so sorry to hear off DDs bad experience,it makes you feel so
No need for suncream here ,its been raining all afternoon, which put paid to our plan of taking DGD to a local park.DS2 and I ended up going to see DB & SIL and DN instead which was nice,DH stayed at home with his hacking horrible cough as he didnt want to pass it on.The sun has now come out,but she's gone back to her Mums now.

Home to roast veg, chicken and roast spuds.V nice. Our shop yesterday was quite a bit more than usual:eek:(mind you DH was with me ;),I try to go on my own usually),but the fridge had got very bare as well.Went to a bigger MrS than usual so had more choice, and stocked up on a few things ,then on to Ald! for F &V.Trying to get a few extra bits each week to build up stock for winter, when DH & DS work can be variable/or even non existent(self employed builders)
I am meeting some old work friends tomorrow hopefully,so that will be a nice change.
Hope you have a good evening xx

Moorhen - glad DD is feeling better, I have friends in certain areas who have kids who get mugged regularly for their phones, another's kids can't wear anything decent to school - it will get taken. Horrible world sometimes but there is a lot of good around too just sometimes hard to remember that at times. X
