  • Moorhen, what an awful thing to happen to your daughter. It makes me sick to my stomach to think people can just threaten to use violence to get what they want. I dd is ok and big hugs to her.
Quick question, i want to get some baking done but i have only got plain flour. Can i just put baking powder in with it as i really don't want to go out today. Thanks in advance.
DD has got up because she has work at 10. All of her eyelashes and eyebrows have fallen out again. She says that it doesn't bother her but you can tell she is only saying that by the look on her face.
Hope everyone has a good day.

 moorhen, hope poor DD is ok x

Thanks mucky_moo! I love celery so you could send it my way too :rotfl: or you can make celery soup. One onion, one whole celery, 2 medium spuds. All chopped up. Fry off onion and celery, add spuds and litre of veg stock. Simmer for 15-20mins, add sprinkle of dill, cook for few more mins. Then blend til smooth. Serve with dollop of creme fraiche etc.

That reminds me that there should be a new Super 6 today so I shall pop out to see what it is.

Huge hugs to you and your DD Moorhen xx
I must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer.
Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration.
I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over and through me. When it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path.
When the fear has gone there will be nothing. Only I will remain.

Moorhen I hope your poor DD isn't too shaken up now. What utter scumbags!

Hester I sympathise - I'd be a nervous wreck if I had to have my house inspected. Good luck.:o

We got the boys taken for their walk early, before it got too hot; poor little chaps can't take their fur coats off.:D

I was originally (ie when I did the meal plan, ages ago) going to do toad-in-the-hole for dins today; this has now transmuted into sausage salad.:D I always have a supply of veggie Lincolnshire sausages, and they're as nice cold as they are hot.:o

Halight there's only one thing I have to say about that chap's job.... EEEEEWWWWWWW!!!!!:rotfl:
If your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)
  • thankyou flutterby. the soup is on the hob cooking away as I type:D:j

Could you let me know what the new super six are as they are not on the website yet and I dont want to go to the shops yet as I want a few NSD's:o

    Moorhen

What a horrible thing to happen to your dd. I hope she can get over the stress of it and feel confident again.

    Hester

Good luck with the visit and sure you will be fine.

Hot and sunny day but dd said there is a 50% chance of rain. The humidity makes it difficult to sleep but actually got a decent sleep last night so feel more chirpy.

Lemon chicken is in the oven and might have lunch in garden with baby potatoes , carrots and asparagus.

Our bedding is in washing machine and will be hung outside as it is such a good drying day.

Getting work done in bathroom this week so need to do a quick tidy round.

Hug to all and see you later.

    Morning All

Moorhen - Hope DD is ok, I can imagine it has shaken you all up. Hope they find them.
Halight - I may not moan about my job any more!
HH - I'm sure SS are more concerned about love and care than dust!

The weather is ok, not sunny but not raining, it is fairly warm though.
Went out to buy fresh rolls this morning to have with bacon for a treat, DD gone off to work a happy bunny.

The chap painting the woodwork outside the house finished undercoating yesterday and said he may be back today but I hope he has a family day with his children and he can come tomorrow. Now school is back it's important that he finds time to spend with his wife and little ones.

Work last night was very hot and very busy, back in at 5 today but I don't think its as busy as the last couple of nights. DD can get her own tea tonight, I made risotto last night which was yummy.

DDs bedding in the wash and one load already out so hoping that will dry on the line, apart from that not much happening, may try for a nap later!

    Take care. XX

Moorhen I don't normally post on this thread but felt that I want to add my voice to the ones expressing regret about what happened do your DD. As a mother in London unfortunately I have witnessed the suffering of many children, including mine, at the hands of bullies and gangs. I feel for her and for you, too. Many warm wishes to all of you (((HUGS)))
Finally I'm an OAP and can travel free (in London at least!).
