If you got a fridge - sending Fred over lol

Fred is a proper indoor cat....as long as there is fridge within a running distance - Fred is a happy bunny :D

Fred would have to race Lulu to the fridge, she is so greedy for one so small! :rotfl: She doesn't bother about going out either, doesn't even go to the front door. Apparently she was the same in her foster home, even tho she could go outside there if she wanted.

No, did nto sleep yet - at all.

Taking Zara out now, nice and cool for her - was a nightmare yesterday, only went for a little walk as wayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy too hot for her fur so going really early today...
  • Dizz spends a lot of his time in the back garden. Doesn't try to climb the wall though. I don't think he can. He spends the rest of the day following me around/trying to kill me through tripping, pouncing or purring. But everytime I go near the door to close it, he's back trying to get out again. If I let him out, chances are he'll turn around and come back inside again, because he had no intention of going out in the first place. I expect to be really moody when I close the back door in autumn, as he won't be able to go exactly where he pleases for 100% of the day.

Don't get rid of Macius. He is happy, just he's being a pain in the bum as well. If he were unhappy, he'd be picking arguments with you, Zara or the other boys. Like Fiona did.

You're doubting yourself too much...and in any case, you'd miss him so much you'd get another kitten and it'd be back to square one. And he'd be unhappy being rejected by his family.

So stop fussing...you've run out of stuff about Zara and George to worry about...you're transferring onto Macius now.

Just chill out a bit. You have the cats, Zara, a job, enough food & litter for them all until Christmas, just try and enjoy it a bit.

I expect to see him when I come up in September...if only to convince myself there is another cat as mad and happy as Dizz. :)

    I agree with JoJo.

You could rehome him, but what if he was miserable, what if he missed you and the gang? He may get the outside he craves, but he wouldn't be sleeping with you, or curled up with the dog. If he was unhappy with you and the indoorness of his life, he wouldn't do either of those things.

He sounds very contented to me, despite the desire to be out. Perhaps that's jusst his age and his cheeky chappiness. Is he neutered? Apologies if you've mentioned it, I can't recall. At his age, he probably just wants to get out and chase things in the good weather.

We have a big cat, elderly, spends all summer snoozing under a bush, popping in to top up his tummy. And two kitties, lived with us for only about two months, so 16ish weeks now. The doors are permanently open during warm weather. Benny Boy is in and out all day, stalking things he'd like to catch, climbing stuff he can't get down from. He climbs through every open window, darts out the front every opportunity he gets, much to out chagrin.

But Cocoa Puss couldn't care less. She follows me out to the washing line, pops out to the loo, but generally wants to be in.

Honestly, I think you should wait it out, see if he finds outdoors quite so appealing come winter.
I ave a dodgy H, so sometimes I will sound dead common, on occasion dead stupid and rarely, pig ignorant. Sometimes I may be these things, but I will always blame it on my dodgy H.

Sorry, I'm a bit of a grumble weed today, no offence intended ... well it might be, but I'll be sorry.

I also agree with JoJo.....stop worrying so much woman!
Although I still think you could build some kind of mini staircase down from your flat window to the back garden.....

As much as I'd LOVE to have a tabby cat I'm pretty much full so it looks like you're stuck with him for now :).

I agree with Jo Jo and everyone else, he doesn't sound like a miserable cat, he sounds very contented; I believe having an owner that will love and care for him and see to his every need like you do outweighs the chance to get outside and play any time he likes.

My mum attempted to re-home one of my cats and keep him as an indoor cat. Nothing doing, he WAS genuinely miserable, spent all night crying at the door and all day hiding under the bed, only coming out when me or my daughter came round.

He looks like a happy, contented cat, just look at that big grin in the first picture of him and Zara (who is stunning btw, I love German Shepherds).

BUT if you feel what's best for him would be a home where he could go out any time and where you know he will be looked after then thats also fine too.

But don't rush and don't overthink, it's wintertime soon and the weather will start getting colder then, he probably won't be so keen to go out then.

It's also partly the weather, mine want to be out all the time at the minute and I struggle to get them in at night. Come wintertime I'll be throwing them out the door lol!

Thanks - the kind of posts I was hoping for ;)

Macius just got out of bed with me - he punces on me every time I go for a nap and gets up together with me.

Perhaps him being so unhappy is all in my head...

    Self doubt is a nightmare.

And what is this on Facebook about it being somebody's birthday today?
