Looking for some help here,
been lurking a while and now time to join-:D
My ebay account has been suspended for 12mths,
it initally got suspended in ebays eyes for listing errors, and on looking back i see where i went wrong,we all start and learn as we progresss,
so my partner set up an account and today 3 weeks down the line only sold a couple of things and bought more we see the account again suspended,
They say its linked to my old account???
only thing i can think off is the listings were sent from my computer on her account,
confusing i know, its not be used in any bad way or use to commit any offences so why would ebay pull the plug on an account just for it being used on a pc with a suspended account,
it may seem silly but would they pick the ip-address up?
just so annoyed theres people scamming all the time ond sod all gets done,i sell now and again and get thrown off.....TWICE
any help?

Getting suspended for 12 months is major (and scary) can I ask what the listing errors were?0

If you live together, they'll immediately have picked up on that.
When you say your computer... do you mean your computer, in your house, at which address she has also registered?
Ebay take trading while suspended as a serious offence... so if they think your partner is linked to you business-wise, they'll throw the book at you.My TV is broken!
Edit: refunded £515 for TV 1.5 years out of warranty - thank you Sale of Goods Act! :j0 -
Amazing, isn't it?frivolous_fay wrote: »Ebay take trading while suspended as a serious offence... so if they think your partner is linked to you business-wise, they'll throw the book at you.
Scamming: no problem.
Selling counterfeit goods: Would you like to become a power seller?
Extorting money from buyers by putting the p&p up after auction won: We'll give you fees back if the buyer won't play ball.
But the sins of the father shall be visited on the son even unto the fourth generation if they happen to live at the same address.0 -
Moglex, you're getting seriously cynical

Must have been something seriously dodgy.0

I too agree with the address situation. Might not be the reason, but a possibilty.
My ex (when he left here) had to prove to ebay of his new address to change his details, only then when he did that, I was able to set up my own account!Hi, we’ve had to remove your signature. If you’re not sure why please read the forum rules or email the forum team if you’re still unsure0 -
I think there is a significant difference between being suspended for a listing violation and being NARU'd! A 12month "suspension" is more than likely to be a ban over shill bidding, or repeated non-delivery/selling offences.
The accounts can be linked by address, bank details, email addresses, IP addresses, phone numbers etc - chances are, there was a positive match between at least one of these on the new account and the old one.
Suspensions are normally 7-10 days unless ebay require more verification of Identity - faxing copies of driving licence/passport etc. I speak from experience - I was suspended for breaching the Adult Material policy. And what degraded filth was I selling?
A DVD that came with FHM magazine - Listed in the FHM sub-category of magazines! Apparantly I could sell the DVD with the mag, but not separately.<--- Nothing to see here - move along --->0 -
They can't really link on IP addresses as a lot of people don't have theirs fixed (i.e. it is reassigned under various circumstances).stevew8975 wrote: »The accounts can be linked by address, bank details, email addresses, IP addresses, phone numbers etc - chances are, there was a positive match between at least one of these on the new account and the old one.
Although some people do have a static IP address it's very unlikely that ebay would know who does and who doesn't.
It's far easier for them to link on other details.0 -
i dont see how they would suspend you again as many people have multiple accounts ie one for bidding one for selling and they dont seem to get caught0
