pops put a fleece blanket under the duvet its amazing how warm you will be. Hope this helps.Get as much UNDER your bottom sheet as you have above you. If you can ever lay your hands on an old duvet put it underneath you so you are in a duvet sandwich, you will never have been so warm.
Ginny...I did that...What a difference:)
So one can only wonder what a difference a continental Quilt would make or some of the other ideas like HWB, EB, PJ's and/or bedsocks...
Thank you;)You too Monnagran..."A government afraid of its citizens is a Democracy. Citizens afraid of government is tyranny!" ~Thomas Jefferson

Pops glad it worked for you, simple but effective. I put a HWB in our beds an hour before bed and its lovely and toasty when we get in. Can't sleep in socks they drive me dippy.Clearing the junk to travel light

Frugal Frog, congratulations re the job, it's a wonderful feeling to know you finally have a way to pay the bills again.
OH and I have been in a spot of bother lately ourselves, he was laid off in May and until this Monday (when he started a permanent full time job) he had a week or two of temping and that was it.... I have had to use virtually all my wages to ensure the bills got paid leaving me with little for my own enjoyment. I was annoyed initially but soon realised there are plenty of people out there worse off than us. We have a roof over our heads plus some money coming in so not all bad.
We are now back to two wages, though for the time being I am having to shoulder the bulk of the bills to help OH get his massive overdraft down, I am happy to do this, after all we're in this together - he helped me out when I struggled to sell my flat so it's only right that I help him now.

Have truly had enough now, recieved another ATOS form to fill in for OH. What the hell do they want, will our benefits stop again for 3 months only to be re-instated and back dated when we are at our wits end. Oh has taken to his bed and Im so angry.
have actually filled the form in - it only took me half an hour - temper motivated me. Going to do something quiet and calming now xxClearing the junk to travel light

ginnyknit, thats awful, I dont know much about atos, but I know you dont need the stress of that ontop of whatever medical problems you / your partner have. It is stressfull enough waiting for a benefit payment without the added stress of worrying it will be stopped/delayed , and by the sounds of your post, not for the firt time!!SPC 2012 #1456

Just a quick update, and a MASSIVE thanks, I have had 3 lovely lovely pms, I wont go into detail and they all had the same reply, but to know someone has even taken the time to think about me, complete strangers, bought me to tears!
I have managed to earn a few pounds as I advertised as a babysitter/cleaner/dogsbody lol. Now I am still up the creek, but I have a paddle now:rotfl:
I have electricity and a little stock cupboard in the making.
It really makes my heart go, knowing that people on here care, I have seen more kindness here than in real life, That says something doesnt it!
I treated myself to a bar of fruit and nut and a bus ride home.
Thank you once again to everyone that has wrote to me and offered ideas on the board. I am very greatful xxSPC 2012 #1456

That's wonderful on both points Frugal Frog,
And yes all my friends are on line, pity that we are scattered across the country/world. It would be so nice for me to share some of my meals and not cook for one or have a cup of tea and a piece of cake with many here...
As for PM's I won't go into detail but someone has offered me help and has thought of me even though that person has lots of problems and sorrow in their own lives...but was afraid that tghe offer of help might offend.
How kind is that?
As for ATOS, don't get me started...they annoy but scare me too and I fear the future as if I haven't enough to worry over with health problems, financial worries and still early days from losing Mum. I dare not think about the future. It is no wonder so many are stresses/have depression.

Frugal frog - take it one day at a time. You will get through the bad times in the end. And keep checking out the threads on this forum for ideas to cut your costs and make your money go further, whilst still having a reasonable quality of life.
