The best ones are when there's "Genuine Ralph Lauren Cashmere Sweaters BNWT" starting at £20. One in the shops would cost £300 - £400, maybe £150 in a factory outlet store if extremely lucky - so they're obviously fakes.

Don't tell me you're now wondering why the stock is bankrupt! ;) Sadly a common business practice is to make up fake labels to try and make the item look valuable. It isn't uncommon for a leather jacket to have £500 label on it, and only ever be on sale for nothing over £80. Sure the jacket's genuine leather. Sure you can get designer leather jackets that exceed £800, so £500 might seem a good price. But go to George and you can probably get a leather jacket for £35, compare this with your £80 one with a £500 RRP label and they're probably the same quality. The same happens with all goods, perfumes is another popular one with fake RRP's on the box. I suspect even people buying job lots/bankrupt stock are caught out with this scam.

Agree the cliche goes if you can't afford genuine Ralph Lauren and want your kids to look like you can afford to wear a designer label just type in Ralph Lauren shirts Ebay and see the sh*te they're selling.

Trouble is the ebayers who actually sell Ralph Lauren etc are they that thick that they actually think they're buying genuine gear to sell.
