They may be unwanted gifts and so on too, as long as there are not a huge number of them. I wouldn't automatically assume something was dodgy.

@Soo - I guess the thing on Amazon is that it is free to list and your listings do not expire in the short term. So unlike with eBay, where either I have to use FLWs or list at 99p, I can upload onto Amazon and it is a bonus if it sells.

I'm at the end of what I can justify listing but may cannibalise a bit more of my DVD collection.

It may be, but it puzzles me why if given a dress with a Selfridges label on thats still tagged, people dont take them back for exchange if its something thats in the current collection?

I guess some folk cant be bothered lol

Yep totally agree, half of the label price simply isn't going to attract anyone I'm afraid. Probably not even a quarter of the label price.
I have had many Light Bulb Moments. The trouble is someone keeps turning the bulb off :o

A couple of times I've procastinated too long about a purchase & missed the returns deadline.
And I guess some shopaholics buy stuff, pop it in their wardrobe, then end up not wearing it.

I am a business seller and buy job lots/bankrupt stock etc (all BNWT), and split and sell individually. I sell everything BIN and usually at about 25% or sometimes much less of the ticket price and all with free delivery and I am really struggling to sell anything much at all at the moment.

I'm having a really good month, sorry all!

But with a good month comes lots of 'this doesn't fit, please can I return it' which is annoying but part and parcel of being a business!

I suppose, after the free-for-all ecommerce became for a while it is becoming obvious which items are suitable to buy/sell online. My purchases have been...interesting...to say the least and would now rather buy in person. No reflection on you, obviously, and you seem to accept this, but it's surprising the numbers of people who don't realise the obvious drawbacks or issues.

I admire the perserverance of anyone buying/selling lots of clothes on eBay. I don''t think I'd manage it - I think I'll stick to books. You deserve a big :T:T:T

I also admire anyone who can sell clothes, I am a real Del boy but selling clothes online just about did for my sanity.

I'm having my best month ever for sales at the moment, and my items are not traditionally 'summer' style goods so maybe the recession has kept people at home buying instead of spending all their money overseas.

The best ones are when there's "Genuine Ralph Lauren Cashmere Sweaters BNWT" starting at £20. One in the shops would cost £300 - £400, maybe £150 in a factory outlet store if extremely lucky - so they're obviously fakes.

Don't tell me you're now wondering why the stock is bankrupt! ;) Sadly a common business practice is to make up fake labels to try and make the item look valuable. It isn't uncommon for a leather jacket to have £500 label on it, and only ever be on sale for nothing over £80. Sure the jacket's genuine leather. Sure you can get designer leather jackets that exceed £800, so £500 might seem a good price. But go to George and you can probably get a leather jacket for £35, compare this with your £80 one with a £500 RRP label and they're probably the same quality. The same happens with all goods, perfumes is another popular one with fake RRP's on the box. I suspect even people buying job lots/bankrupt stock are caught out with this scam.
Wanted a job, now have one.

Yes, I think many are staying at home. It's a funny summer, what with the Olympics ...and unexpected success at it! I think people are finding reasons to feel happy without looking overseas to find it. That can't be a bad thing. :)
