Any bank denied PPI existed then transpired it did!

Its not a case of don't want to believe, I had the conversation with a lender who stated I may not get accepted unless I agreed to ppi. I only had a loan with one other provider. I cannot remember the details of which loan it was for.
I am asking for other peoples experiences. Not to be ridiculed by others, if you do have constructive advice or guidance don't be patronising. It doesn't help anyone being sarcastic.
I have helped people myself up till now to get back in excess of £5k in PPI from banks who ripped customers off! We have bailed the banks out in this country and everyone deserves money back if it something that would have been worthless to them had they claimed using these policies!
Please can I ask that only helpful, constructive answers and advice are given to my thread for me or for other moneysavingexpert customers for the future, sarcasm doesn't help anyone

Did they deny PPI was ever on the account? I'm sure I had PPI on some of the accounts with them, (4 to include credit cards and loans) and they have denied 3 up till now! Bit of a minefield
I don't know whether to call them, at least to question the one they haven't responded about, and question what they have said in the letter. OR just go for it and put in a SAR ? What do you guys think?
I appreciate all the comments :T
Hi,
No they just denied that the account ever existed.
Luckily I have two letters from the dated back to the time that prove otherwise.
I also had issues with them re my credit card.
First of all they couldn't trace the details. I called them up, and spoke to the PPI dept.
We went through what I could recall, and lo and behold, they found the full package, right back to the date I signed for the card (1997).
Due to shift work, I still have to send off the updated complaint.
Get them to check, what the girl on the phone called, the System C.U.G.
Regards,

Send a SAR.Non me fac calcitrare tuum culi0 -
Request a SAR.
I said this before!
I will say it again!
Request a SAR.
Just in case you did not get that,
Request a SAR.
Asking whether or not someone else has ever found this out has not got you anywhere in 4 days that probably shows that it doesn't happen.
Personally I think you are a journalist who is trying to get a story because if you were real and didn't believe what the bank had told you then you would have requested a SAR!!!
Seems pretty straight forward to me.
I can assure you jdwmfc I am not a journalist. I will request a SAR to make sure.
Can I say thank you to those that are very helpful, and very disappointed with those who are nasty and short in their response, don't know why some responses have such a horrible tone.

Bear in mind, if you have no paperwork to support your claim, thebank are only obliged to save your data for 6 years.
It's possible they send information from longer than 6 years ago, but it's not a given.
If your accounts were settled over 6 years ago, the bank send you no details further back than this, and you have no paperwork, your evidence of misselling is hearsay and unlikely to be upheld.Non me fac calcitrare tuum culi0 -
In 2000, I took out a Mortgage to buy a flat. The broker worked for Allied Dunbar and he arranged the mortgage with the Halifax. I was told that, because of my circumstances, I would have to have PPI and that the cost of £8000 would be put onto the mortgage. I sold the flat some 4 years later.
Now I have no record of the mortgage and the bank denies that I was charged PPI. Any advice on how to proceed??

Your complaint would be against the broker who arranged the PPI and mortgage. However, in 2000 the broker will not have been regulated and would refuse to consider your complaint on that basis alone. Having no records of your own doubly ensures that your complaint has ended before it's begun.glidingdoc wrote: »Now I have no record of the mortgage and the bank denies that I was charged PPI. Sorry.

That is a missale. Single premium front loaded is the only bad form of MPPI.Any advice on how to proceed??
2000 is pre-regulation and Allied Dunbar (now under Zurich) are only responsible for Allied Dunbar branded products sold by their reps. They are not responsible for third party insurance products such as MPPI arranged with other providers.I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA).
