Any bank denied PPI existed then transpired it did!

Hi
I have had PPI off a credit card held with MBNA over 10 years ago and they paid out £800 from start to finish of request :T7 weeks.
I contacted Natwest who I had 2 credit cards and two loans with. They have written to state no PPI on the cards or one loan? - they are yet to respond re the other loan. I'm sure I had PPI on at least the loans. All these accounts were over 10yrs ago. I don't believe that four accounts never had PPI?
Has anyone experience with any PPI claim they were rejected by saying they didn't have PPI, but then pursued further via a SAR request or other method and found that actually there was PPI?
I would also state that to actually get them to register the PPI disputes in the first place has been difficult - due to change of address since I last used the accounts. I sent the form with the 4 account numbers. Initially they only acted upon the 2 credit card accounts. I had to call to re-register the two loan accts, even though submitted on same form. This was only after I had to go into a branch to prove who I was, even though I had posted this evidence to them twice! They did not respond.
I would very much appreciate all responses.

Hi there
My brother in law was told the same thing, in fact he were told that they could not track down the details of the account, so I tried helping him as he is dylexic and we found some useful paperwork, and now the bank stated they have upheld and dealing with the case as a matter of priority. The one and only "Dizzy Di"

Had similar with Santander, on an Alliance and Leicester account.
Called them up, went through more details.
As a result, they have now found the accounts concerned and are looking into my claim
Life is now good

Thanks Dizzy Di, did you have the paperwork? Did the bank say that he had NO ppi and it turned out he did?
Would really appreciate your response. Know the banks lie about stuff, but do they blatantly lie that people didn't have ppi when they really did?
Thank you,0 -

Hi Dunree,
Did they deny PPI was ever on the account? I'm sure I had PPI on some of the accounts with them, (4 to include credit cards and loans) and they have denied 3 up till now! Bit of a minefield
I don't know whether to call them, at least to question the one they haven't responded about, and question what they have said in the letter. OR just go for it and put in a SAR ? What do you guys think?
I appreciate all the comments :T0 -

Thanks jdwmfc,
Did they deny you had PPI? Did you have to use a SAR. Just think they have been incompetent from stage 1, so if they have been like that about just responding surely they can be wrong about the PPI!
Any other responses would be also very helpful and hopefully give me some hope.
Many thanks,

If you truly believe that the bank are lying to you., and that you had PPI on your accounts, send them a SAR to make certain.Non me fac calcitrare tuum culi0

Waste of £10, though, if it just confirms what the Bank have already said.If you truly believe that the bank are lying to you., and that you had PPI on your accounts, send them a SAR to make certain.
Almost 50% of PPI complaints received by Banks are from people who never had PPI in the first place.0 -
Yup, but some people will never really believe until evidence is in front of them......Non me fac calcitrare tuum culi0
