Not at all, you forget there are lots of lurkers on here that go out and clear the shelves without saying so much as a thank you or letting anyone else know so others in the area are saved a wasted trip. They don't need any encouragement to go out and do stuff that will only see T's, A's and S's pulling their socks up. And not just the lurkers either, some people that do use the thread don't need ideas putting in to their head.:(

Not having a go, just.... I dunno.

    Spot on, HC. :T

We've had a lot of new posters recently - and welcome to them. :)

It's very easy to get carried away when you first realise the potential of the various schemes and opportunities available, and also to think this is a "safe" place to post. It isn't, it is a public space and anyone can come on here and read what you post, and that without being registered with MSE.

This thread has always been a bit of a challenge for MSE I think, both in terms of the sheer breadth of the subject matter it covers and the possibility that it may appear from time to time that things are being condoned and encouraged which may be less than legal or ethical. Just think for example of how careful they are about where voucher codes are posted - it's not them being picky or difficult, it's because they've been threatened big time with legal action in the past.

MSE host this forum, and I for one am very grateful to them, not least for the very real sense of community and helpfulness which is evident on every single page of this thread. It seems to me, quite apart from issues of what's morally or legally acceptable and what isn't, that at some point it's rude to abuse their hospitality and present them with potential problems in terms of having to defend things they may not be comfortable with.

This is purely a personal opinion, but can I please suggest that people bear this in mind, otherwise the easy option really will be for MSE just to close the thead. I for one would feel much the poorer for it and feel like I was losing some good cyber friends. :A
    Hope is not a strategy.

I dont know if a "lotto" ticket or a Asda or Tesco "receipt" is classed as the same but I guess theft is theft.

Im not saying people that do it are bad, in fact I dont give a toss. Your choice of course..

But I asked about it and I get blasted for it. Someone says they got a few good receipts and is rewarded with thanks.. double standards or what.

Things that we do that are questionable :

Actively search Tesco & Asda for discarded receipts and claim APGs/PPs.

Claim points on receipts that we find in Tesco.

Collect the £1 coins left in trolleys.

Pricecheck items that we think may give a DTD - and then buy several intending to claim DTD.

Use several different conditional spend coupons when we've only spent enough for the highest valued one.

Grab dozens of Tesco, Asda and Sainsbury magazines cos we want the money off coupons - and then use them knowing we will get a BM etc (lager/shandy anyone?)

Looking for the youngest, most gullible looking SA when we want to bend the coupon rules a bit.

Castigating SA's who won't let us get away with bending the coupon rules.

Picking up money in the car park and not handing it in.

Printing off more coupons when really the manufacturer intended only one.

Saving online coupons as PDF's and then printing and using dozens to get large quantities of free or very cheap goods.

Taking advantage of cases where we discover the tills are given double discounts (Lurpak?).

Buying masses of an item when we know that the computers are price matching wrongly and getting goods at what is clearly a wrong price (Don Simon?)

Buying items which we know we don't want in order to use a conditional spend coupon - and then taking it back for a refund.

As above to get a Sainsbury BM>

Using your works printer to print off coupons.

Using your works mailing system for your own private mail.

I'll stop there or I'll be at it all night.

Very few of us are quite as spotless as we make out.

Agreed, there is a fair amount of hypocrisy on this thread!

a fair few regulars do the same and don't mention the store in question on here...so when you find an empty shelf...like I did tonight inT's (no 5 beans) don't always blame the lurkers...

Well it's nothing really and I know a few here do far more and on a regular basis so they are the ones who should be applauded for the constant hard work....and for pricking the consciences of the rest of us! :D

Just seem to be spending a lot of time reflecting on stuff lately.....yeah yeah I know thats old age creeping on......and I just feel like I wanna do something a bit more worthwhile if that makes sense. Couldn't cope with the stress of it all but fancy the idea of volunteering for disaster relief of some sort in some far flung coutry. Never say never I guess.

Well i applaud you and think it's a lovely thing of you to do :kisses3: Smoochy smoochy :rotfl:

I'm very jealous, the most exciting place I'm going is to bed, and that's only exciting to me because I'm reading a fantastic book... and no it's not that 50 Shades of Sh... Grey! :rotfl:

Ooh but I am going horse riding tomorrow for the first time in 13 years! Very excited but so nervous.. my status earlier was this...

Wishes that horses lied about their height like men do about the size of their willy's, that way I wouldn't be so scared about a horse riding lesson on a 16hh horse - as I would know that really it'd turn out to be a shetland pony!

It made me laugh anyway! :rotfl:
    Ooh I am rambling!:o
Ha ha, I'm reading 50 shades of sh.. - near the end of the second.
Good luck on your "pony trot" tomorrow.... only joking. Your bum and thighs will be killing you. I did about 20 lessons of horse riding 7 years ago, I quickly got buns of steel!! Sadly they are not there anymore :(;) Just "cake" buns instead...

Right, because I've been honest I am now classed as rude.

Thats it, I'm off for a while. Do what you like - buck the system to your hearts content, pretend you haven't and carry on moaning at others who buck the system ! Its crazy.

    hehe! :rotfl:
No offence meant to anyone who reads it, just not my cup of tea, I got bored reading the sample!
Me Before You - JoJo Moyes is a brilliant book, as is the Hunger Games trilogy!

I'm dreading the day after! I still have my calves of steel from ten years of horse riding, ballet and tap, lost the buns of steel though, they became saddlebags! :o
