    Afternoon Everyone,

I've had a morning I don't want to repeat. My DH took my rabbit to the emergency vet with suspected fly strike first thing.

Luckily we caught it in time and my poor baby is now in an indoor cage sore and feeling sorry for himself. I've got cream and medicine for him and a follow up trip to the vets on Tuesday, but I've been so lucky, fly strike kills rabbits in 48 hours.

I think I'll pop out to A's and get him some parsley.

I hope your rabbit is better soon. I've had the same thing happen to a couple of rabbits in the past and it's awful. Unfortunately, I lost one rabbit through it. I think some rabbits are prone to it if they have loose stools and is always something to be wary of during fly season.

I always use Beaphar Fly Guard now as a precaution and, so far, with my little Munchkin, it has been effective.

    Afternoon! :j:wave:
Having a manic round up of everything before taking the car to France for a week- sounds like we could have an Elite Meet over there... Discovered this morning that we had no roof bars to mount the roof box (since getting a small car...) and the blinking things cost nearly as much as the ferry crossing!
...ah well, got to go to a T's with a scanner, and DS's clubcard arrived! ;)

Any advice on 'stuff' to do in southern Brittany is most welcome! I have never been there before! :T

Could you not change the time by 12 hours? As the system might see that as a new receipt?

I know this is a little off your topic but I used to deal with travel insurance and my tip is to look at natwest and rbs advantage card and Royalities accounts which you pay for that come with travel insurance. They are from £120 a year or where when I dealt with them and for annual multi trip cover it was very good value for the older client....:money:

Also you pay monthly to no large lump sum like with normal policies.

Very much worth a look, I used to also pick up calls from people calling help the aged and felt terrible having to sell them policies when I knew they could get soo much cheaper through there bank.... Funnily enought my next job selling life insurance was the opposite and I was forever telling people not to go to there bank!

Thanks Jemma - but DH is over the age where bank policies will cover him annually. He is with Lloyds TSB and his account gives various extras including Annual Travel Insurance. However, once he hit 80, they didn't want to know! They (nd many other companies) would only do Single Trip insurance. I've looked at Saga, Age Concern etc in the past and the annual premiums were huge. Flexicover and AllClear both gave quotrs at around £500 ish and I chose FlexiCover cos it came up with a useful Quidco 15% cashback!

DH is 82 and, apart from prostate cancer which fortunately appears to be a non aggressive type and the specialist has told him old age will get him before the cancer, is in pretty good shape. He's happy to travel and loves his holidays and I'm happy to encourage him! Now I've got the annual insurance for him I can play the 'we've got to go away more to get the best value out of the insurance' card!
