We have an arrangement in this household, whoever drives chooses the music, and as Westie never drives...

She has one veto per day so when she skips it, I just go back. :)

When I was there there was no such thing as internet for normal folk, there wasn't even data services on your mobile phone. Guide book said the only internet was in the tourist hotels but access was patchy and restricted. However broadband is available in the hospitals for select doctors only.

Getting a can of Coca-Cola was difficult and you did find any it was quite expensive. Cuba's own version of Cola is quite good though!

When are you going? I can lend you a Lonely Planet guide book but I'd like it back.

Thaks for the offer HC - but we're going on Tuesday morning! We tend to avoid guide books, like to find our own way (carefully!!), not quie as bad as you though! Would not fancy where you are going! Well, would, but not the disadvantages :rotfl::rotfl:

Also have to admit - we are going AI, it is a chill out rather than an exploration holiday this time!
What is this life if, full of care, we have no time to stand and stare

Is there any evidence that's necessary? I just hand over a bunch of jumbled up coupons and never had any issues with the conditional spends so long as the original total was high enough to qualify, so I've always assumed the order makes no difference.

The main thing I do to be careful at the coupon stage is try to put similar coupons apart from each other, to reduce the chance of the SA accidentally failing to separate them and putting multiple coupons through as one. Or, with the same purpose, sometimes I fold distinct creases into them or simply fan them out like a hand of playing cards!

I put mine in order. Contitional spends first and then make sure if using more than one of the same coupon, that I mix them up. I then hand them to the sa one by one. :)

I know what you mean, but the guide books are handy for ideas and maps. You have to buy a map at the airport at a cost of £20, you can't get them anywhere else.:eek:

Are transfers included? as the only way to get to and from the airport is official taxis at a cost of about £20/£25:eek:

Without the guidebook I'd never have found the statue of John Lennon sitting on a bench in a park, or the bust of Lenin at a Soviet Museum (closed, but I climbed over the fences;))

Bank cards don't work over there, take cash and change it at the airport.

Everyday things we take for granted (soap, deodorant, sanitary towels etc etc) are either hard to come by or out of reach cost wise from ordinary cubans so my guide book suggests these as gifts for housekeeping staff etc etc.
