OS Daily Saturday 18th August
Hi, this is the Daily Thread for 17th. This is an “over the garden fence” type thread where we chat about everything Old Style and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what Old Style things we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in,put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an Old Style natter. The more the merrier!
As this is the Old Style Board, it would be appreciated if posts could include some Old Style content. Please be aware that many people may have small screens, or slow internet connections, soplease don’t post large pictures, or clip art – links are preferred.
When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem. Please do not start a new daily thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two daily threads live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new daily thread after they get up in the morning.
Some people who chat here like to try to answer everyone. Don’t feel you have to though, a general “hi everyone, hope everyone’s well” type start does just as well.
Hi Guys!
Couldn't sleep well last night as it was too hot! Everything packed. Nurses coming about 7.30, then if we're all up and ready, may go earlier and just take a slower drive.
Hope you are all okay and have a good week.
Take care.

Morning :hello:
Happy Birthday tired mum :bdaycake:
Today I'll be mostly making tea for my neighbour as he lays our patio
I also need to go through the freezers and see if there's enough to make meals for the next week. There's loads of food, but the meals will probably be mix n match. Mr tru didn't organise himself (as usual), he drove about in a van and I had to walk in the rain to pick up HIS stuff. I was so wound up that I went to town and spent the shopping money on myselfI NEVER do things like that. I'm usually sensible but have realised I'm sick of that. Plus it felt fab

Everyone saying today is going to be a hot one.......cloudy here and forecast says 23degrees. Looks like the days heat wave is going to bypass the Midlands........
Anyway off to walk Luna in a bit and then I must crack on with sorting out packing etc. I feel a list coming on :rotfl:

Oh yes
I've been thinking about this lately - the kids left school and found jobs. Then miss tru jumped from job to JSA to job to JSA, stayed out all night without letting us know, moved in with a waster and was heading the same way as him. This went on for a couple of years. Then we had hassle from master tru's ex. Things are finally settled and I seem to be free of responsibility. So I think I'm picking up from where I left off before I had the kids. Trouble is, I was only 19 when I had my first :rotfl: :rotfl:Bulletproof0 -

My wife is at work this morning so I;m looking after the girls. Lunch for the three of us will be sandwich's, My Wife will be back from work from just after lunchtime. I'm not sure what we will be doing this afternoon.
It dose not look like the hot sun is going to make it up to the west midlands today. But those down south should get a hot sunny day.
Well I hope that you all enjoy your Saturday

PP - enjoy your break
Happy birthday Tiredmum
Enjoy the rebellion Tru
I didn't make it on here yday. It was work kids last day yday and we had planned to take them to a theme park. As it's an hour away we were meeting at 8am to set off. But at 7am it was torrential rain and thunder/lightening hereso we made the decision to cancel it and do something else instead. Luckily the kids were understanding and I think they enjoyed the day anyway. We went bowling, for lunch and to the cinema. We saw Expendables 2, not as bad as I thought it may be!
Then last night I went out for dinner with my new friendhad a lovely meal in local Italian restaurant then out for drinks.
I am now off work for 10 whole days :j:j. This is the first time in about 5 years that I've taken a week off work and am not going anywhere - no holiday, weekend away, day trip planned etc! Very unlike me :rotfl:. The only day I have plans on is Friday when my friend is coming to visit for the day. No doubt I will find ways to entertain myself, but will try to do it cheaply!
No plans for today yet, maybe meet the girls for lunch if they are around.
OS wise - ummmm........freezer meal for tea probably!
Have a fab day all
