Well we haven't been trying long but for us the key is just doing it regularly regardless of the timing. We don't want it to feel like a chore when its the 'right' time. DH wouldn't stand for just doing it for a few days each month!

......depends when you ovulate!! If I didn't BD after CD14, I would stand zero chance every month :o

MV - I think 'fading away' for a while will do you the world of good. I find this forum can be almost toxic sometimes. Wishing you all the best this time and hope you can bring us good news in the future. Keeping my fingers crossed. xx

Well although we've been together for a long time, we've only been married for 2 months so are probably making more effort than normal at the moment. I can imagine its frustrating trying to keep things natural and yet trying to time the BDing.
  • thanks lilymay i'll carry on just didn't know if there was a point in with BD after a certain CD was pointless for baby making
trouble is i dunno when i ovulate i've tried the digi sticks and never get a smiley face on them so i'm wondering whether its worth getting a monitor one or not

Ignore everything the internet (and the GP) says about when people ovulate. Having a 28 day cycle does does NOT mean you ovulate on day 14.

How often are you using the digi sticks? I would maybe suggest getting a big bunch of them from the net, just cheap ones, and test twice or 3 times a day from CD10-CD20 if you have a 28 day cycle. Testing morning, noon and night should hopefully mean you catch the surge. From there you should be able to work out when you've ovulating. Or you could try temping?

A monitor might help you work things out though.

second what lilymay says. I always get better results on opks early evening. Also you can get different strengths so maybe you need to try a more sensitive type. You can also go by cervical mucous - when it's ewcm bd and stop when it's dried up. Seems yucky at first but you get used to it.

Also there is some research that you should bd every 2 days through your cycle and that should ensure there is sperm there to meet the egg whenever it drops but that only really works if you have a OH with a good drive. I don't so this doesn't work.

  • Morning. I was so tempted to poas this morning, but didn't. It's so hard!! I do/don't like this part of the cycle because its all I'm thinking about.

Some of you might know me - most maybe not. I'm not on the list anymore as I disappeared. I've been popping on looking at the list to see who's got their BFPs. It's weird to see the people have had their babies a few months ago who were TTC when I started :)

Anyway, just back to say I finally got a BFP since trying since the beginning of December 2011 :D

And I'm chuffed to see MV has also got one :) Congratulations you!

Congratulations Giz, wishing you a happy and healthy pregnancy xx
