  • MV I haven't tested and I'm not CD1 but I'm heavy spotting so pretty safe to say I'm out. I'm kinda getting fed up with this now. My Christmas party was Wednesday and I deliberately didn't drink much 'just in case'. All for nothing. I'm tired of doing this to myself each month.

Sorry - that's turned into a bit of a pity party....

Squirrel although I wouldn't call him a 'best friend' I have a male close friend at work who DH has met and accepts.
Don't worry about typing out my username - Call me COMP
(Unless you know my real name - in which case, feel free to use that just to confuse people!)
  • *hugs* COMP, feel the same here. Thats why I gave myself a month knew I would have a few partys this month.
Squirrel, My best mates are male. My OH is fine about it, even if I stay at their houses. I have know them 15 +. Wouldn't stay at a new male friend place tho.

Oh meant to say that until recently the majority of my friends were males. I tend to get on better socially with males.
However turns out they weren't my true friends and they were just mates with me coz I would do anything for anyone, took me 8 years to learn how to say no. As soon as I did *puff* they all disappeared.
I find girls tend to be more b**chy and backstabbing, but that's a generalisation really.
Remember never judge someone that makes a mistake, because in six months time it may be you that makes the next mistake.

Can I ask a question? How many people have got men as best friends and its accepted by their OHs?

I'm only asking because I always seem to make friends easier with guys (I am just one of those girls that doesnt really get on with other women very well!) In my last job my best friend was a man (married with kids) and now ive moved jobs I've found that the person I've become really friendly with is another man (living with partner & kids).

I think its fine as we're obviously just mates but I'm finding it a bit hard to tell my DH as he has always been slightly weird about the other guy from my old work and now im starting to feel guilty as if something sordid is going on, even though its not! Also this new man has said that if his partner knew he was mates with a girl she would probably freak out!!

When I met DH his best friend was a girl (who he'd actually dated previously) so its not something that actually bothers me - although I guess if he came home and said he'd made a new friend that was a girl and wanted to spend time with her, I might find it a bit odd so maybe i'm being a hypocrite!!:rotfl:

I have 1 single female friend, the rest are male, OH finds it easier when he knows the guys himself, but it all comes down to trust really. You shouldn't try and change who you are just because your partner doesn't feel totally comfortable.

Big hugs ladies, sorry for being a bit slack atm... am having a bit of a 'low' time with looking after little nephew again... he is a wonderful little man, but it hurts to give him back :o My only distraction is work, but of course that's full of newborns too, why on earth do I put myself in these positions? :rotfl:

Just discovered that the motor on our bedroom fan (little one) has went out. I may not be able to sleep tonight due to this. We've also found out that the static between stations on the radio clicks... I have extreme ringing in my ears if there isn't some sort of background noise. Hopefully I'll be able to eventually get some sleep, but DH has already threatened to sleep in the other bedroom if I bother him about it. :(

I get that (tinnitus) as a side effect of my deafness. When it's bothering me, I've found sleeping next to a pair of headphones plugged into an MP3 player helps. Don't actually have the headphones in, just near me.

Raz, are we the same person? :p I've got partial heating deficit too, and tinnitus (though perhaps from TMJ disorder rather than the deafness). Feel free to pick my fibro/ttc related brains whenever you like :) oh and a hot water bottle and/or a Tens machine can do wonders for that kind of muscle spasm

Just as a little reassurance, no doctor/nurse/FS/friend/relative has ever questioned why I would ttc when I have these conditions. :) All that has been queried is what support and coping mechanisms I might use post-birth, and that was me asking myself, or my closest sister during open discussion. Noone else has questioned it. :) I did feel...funny? about it in the beginning though, but I know if I'm ever lucky enough, we'll manage :) the thing that does worry me now though is whether we'd get accepted for fostering/adopting, once my health is taken into account

COMP, I hope the witch stays/goes away :(

  • I have just tested this morning ( CD28, 12dpo) with a Boots own brand hpt, and have got the faintest of faint line. It's really hardly there.

My eyesight is shocking so woke up OH ( not happy, crawled in at 2am), and he said he can see it, but again super faint.

I have a digi..i'm a bit scared to use it as the last 2 times I got the 1-2 and within a matter of days lost.

So am calling it a tttttlp. I may buy a FRER later when we go shopping. Or I may wait until tom and use the digi.
