Thanks again for the lists T2D. Maybe we should set up a little rota system with it so that people only have to do it for a week at a time? Cos it is a bit daunting doing it alllll of the time.

Will catch up with everything else later - just wanting some advice for now please.

About 3 years ago my sister helped me out with my finances. I had my head well and truly in the sand about everything and she helped me get my head unstuck and leant me a lot of money by taking out an interest free credit card (I wouldn't have been allowed any more credit at the time) and then topping up the rest with her savings. I've been paying her back monthly since then, and this month is my final payment.

How do I say thank you for that? She doesn't want any money or anything like that - she was just doing it to help me out.

I still have debts (a loan and another credit card which is on interest free now as well) so I don't have much money spare or anything like that.

I'm gonna send her a card and write some nice things n stuff. But how do you say thank you for something like that?? Nothing really seems appropriate cos it was such a massive thing she did for me.

your sister is lovely Abis but i'm sure she did it for nothing more than wanting her sister to be happy so don't fret too much :o as you're crafty, how about making something really intricate so she knows a lot of time and love has gone into it x x

  • abis, how about taking her for a spa day so you can spend a nice relaxing girlie day together?

My best friend and I try and treat ourselves a couple of times a year to a spa and lunch as it gives us a much needed opportunity to have a proper catch up and gossip without the menfolk about!

Hope AF stays at bay tinks x

abis - what a lovely sister you have (although I'm sure she would say you were more than worth it of course!) I really like the idea of making her something, that way it's really personal and shows how much you appreciate her help. Or maybe cook her a nice meal? Without meaning to sound like a complete cliche - I think knowing you're now financially sorted and have a better idea of how to handle money will be all the thanks she needs.

Awww Abis, I know exactly how it feels to have wonderful relatives who are prepared to go way beyond the extra mile  I think making something crafty for her is a great idea... does she have a particular hobby / interest you could plan around?

Afm, I went to see the lovely practice nurse for my smear, and whilst I was there I told her about my suspicions re: PCOS and being thought a hyperchondriac - she booked me in to see the doctor this week and told me that some simple blood tests would probably determine one way or t'other. So, all in all a bit of a relief to not just be told to 'come back in 12 months'. However, I mentioned PCOS to Mum (who knows about the TTCing, but is keeping it quiet), and she helpfully said 'Isn't that what your Nana and Aunty have?' Might have been good to tell me before :rotfl:

Edit: It's DH's 30th birthday today... I've told him he has to be a grown up now, but I'm not holding my breath. I'm a bit torn because I want to bake him a cake for after our meal tonight, but I have an OU assignment due in and I've been very naughty and not finished it.

Even later edit: My sister is being induced this morning, feeling a bit conflicted about the whole thing, but I know that will melt away when I see my gorgeous little niece.

amy - understandable to feel some mixed emotions but like you say, your little niece is going to totally melt your heart. Hope all goes well for your sister and you're all having baby cuddles soon.

Oh - and my niece's birthday is the same day as my OH's too. And there's 30 years between them! Happy birthday to MrAmy, hope you have a great day.
  • Morning All,

At last the sun is shining here. Thank Goodness.

Abis - I think something crafty like a sister inspired wall hanging/cross stitch/picture that she can see everyday hanging on her wall or decorating her home would be a lovely the thought. Especially if you made it.

Amy - Hope your OH has a great birthday. Good Luch at your Docs appoint.

Tinks - Get well soon *I yell from a safe distance with my face covered*:rotfl:
