Help with disability benefits

My wife gets DLA High rate mobility componet and also SDA, I get ESA income based in the work related activity group. Also we have 2 children 17 and 13. In my esa money they deduct my wifes SDA money from the esa I get, Is this right? Also we claim tax credits should this be with a disability premium? Thankyou for the help.

Forgive me for asking, but how are you claiming tax credits when you are both on out of work benefits (SDA and ESA)?

You claim tax credits if you have children and on benefits, you do not have to be employed..

They should get approx £400pm in tcs on top of everything else..

Yes! that's Child Tax Credits. The OP appears to be asking about Working Tax Credits!

Then how can he be on income related esa, if that was the case he'd be on contribution based.
Where does it say she's employed, it says shes on SDA and HRM DLA, nothing there about employment..

I may be wrong but they appear to be asking about the disability element of working tax credits.

Hubby wouldn't be on IR ESA if wife working, I think they are talking about severe disability allowance, I may be wrong though..

    Think op should clarify..

I did get contribution paid esa for 12 months then went onto income related esa, and it is child tax credits. My wife does not work as she is disabled. Just asking should we be getting a dla premium in the child tax credits and should my wifes sda be coming out of my esa money? Thankyou

only if you have a child that gets DLA.

why would a disability premium be paid for an adult when the benefit is for the CHILD?
