in Water bills
I am with Welsh water and I live at my house for about two to three weeks every three to four months as I work abroad. My last bill is 480 pounds from November to June 20 and has a usage of 114 units since then totally another 322 pounds.
There is a water meter in place which seems to be accurate and the Water board is offerring no help. Is there anyway that I can check further what is happening to my water supply

Hi
Sorry to state the obvious, but check for leaks, turn. The water off w hen you are away and take loads of meter readings.
Good luck0 -
If the meter readings are right then you are using water somewhere. You need to check if the meter is moving when no water is being used, Turn the stop tap off and check and then check again with everything in the house off.There is a race of men that don't fit in; A race that can't stand still;
So they break the hearts of kith and kin, and roam the world at will.

Hi there, I prosume you are on a water meter if so then find you external meter, most of the time this will be located within the footway outside the boundry of your property, it should have a cover with WATER stamped onto a metel or plastic lid square or round, under the lid there maybe a disc, pull this out, this is called the frost plug, it protects the meter.
You should then see the water meter, there are many diffrent kinds, check the meter number is the same as the one on your bill, them ask someone in your house to run the water, from a COLD tap kitchen as the best as the other maybe fed from a tank, if the dial speed increases then that is your meter.
You then need to find your internal stop tap, kitchen, bathrooms ect are the most common places for them, TURN THE TAP OFF NICE AND TIGHT make sure there is no cold water coming out of the closest COLD TAP, return to your outside meter and check to see if the dials are moving, there maybe a small black disc as well, if there is ANY movement you have a leak.0 -
Remember that standing charges and waste water disposal charges apply whether you are in residence and using water or not.No free lunch, and no free laptop0

If you have an outside tap ensure its turned off internally when not in use, window cleaners have been known to fill up there tanks in the back of vans , and if they know the house is unoccupied it could happen regually0
