CP Plus again!

Having stayed at the travel lodge on the M6 recently I was told to input my car registration into there database so that I wouldn't get a parking ticket.
Guess What arrived in the post yesterday, I obviously have a good case for appeal and had the letter ready to post before I saw some of the messages on here. If I send of the appeal I will be admitting that I was driving at the time and if they don't agree they may have a better case against me. Should I just save the cost of a stamp and let them waste there money pursuing it? Incidentally I tried to contact Travel lodge through there website and I got a basic message saying tough luck take it up with CP Plus.
I would appreciate some advice from you guys, Thanks.

Only councils, the police, train operators and Transport for London can impose legally enforceable fines or penalties. A private ticketing company can't. All they can issue are “speculative invoices”.
All the car park owner can claim from a driver in damages for any alleged breach of any alleged contract is what they’ve lost as a result. If it’s in a free car park or the driver paid, this is £0.00. Demanding more has been judged to be unreasonable and therefore an unfair contract penalty under the terms of The Unfair Contract Terms Act 1997, which is not legally enforceable. See Dunlop Pneumatic Tyre Co. Ltd. vs. New Garage & Motor Co. Ltd., House of Lords, 1914 and countless cases since.
There are also now landmark court cases, VCS Parking Control vs. Ronald Ibbotson, S!!!!horpe, 2012, HM Revenue & Customs vs. VCS Parking Control, Lower Tax Tribunal, 2012 and VCS Parking Control vs. HM Revenue & Customs (Appeal), Upper Tax Tribunal, 2012. In these cases, the judges ruled that only the car park owner can charge for parking and take alleged offenders to court. The Upper Tax Tribunal is equivalent to the High Court and, therefore, its judgements set legal precedents.
You should write to the car park owner, advising them that they are "jointly and severally liable" for the actions of their agents and that any further actions by either of them would be regarded as harassment under the terms of The Protection from Harassment Act 1997. This ought to make the car park owner call off the private ticketing company and, maybe, also realise the potential cost of doing business with them.
Don’t appeal to the private ticketing company. They always reject them. What’s in it for them to let anyone off?
If the letter to the car park owner doesn’t have the desired effect, then the private ticketing company, then a debt collector and then a solicitor will send you a series of letters. The debt collector and solicitor are usually the same people, but using different headed paper. These letters will threaten you with every kind of financial and legal unpleasantness imaginable to try and intimidate you into paying.
Continue to ignore everything you get from them. Eventually, they will run out of empty threats and stop throwing good money after bad.The acquisition of wealth is no longer the driving force in my life.0 -
Ignore them, you are a customer of travelodge. Also travelodge saying tough is not good enough, they are responsible for the actions of their agent, CP Plus. You could sue them and the parking company for harassment if you have a mind to, I know some on here have sued companies in the small claims for the actions of parking companies.Excel Parking, MET Parking, Combined Parking Solutions, VP Parking Solutions, ANPR PC Ltd, & Roxburghe Debt Collectors. What do they all have in common?
They are all or have been suspended from accessing the DVLA database for gross misconduct!
Do you really need to ask what kind of people run parking companies?0 -
Not sure if MOTO or travelodge own the car park but I will write to travelodge as if they don't own it they must have some contract with MOTO.
I read here also that some were inquiring about the VAT no. CP plus are using, if of interest it is 916 1465 300 -
Yes they (CP Plus) have been using MOTOs VAT number until I reported them to the DVLA and to MOTO, have no idea if that is their VAT number as VIES is down right now for GB

Travelodge are scum just like the PPCs.
They have a dishonest reservation policy and deliberately overbook their dirty scruffy doss houses. Never use them - Premier Inn are much cleaner and nicer, and they are a company that honor their reservations. A complaint to Travelodge is a waste of time, they couldn't give a toss. Avoid them like the plauge.0 -
Just ignore cp plus and save your cash
and carry on with your life as normal, they will send you some begging letters that may come in handy to wedge a wobbly table then there other inhouse jockstrapps debt recovery plus will send you some begging letters that will be so handy shredded for a pet rodents nice warm bed :money:
PPCs say its carpark management, BPA say its raising standards..... we all know its just about raking in the revenue. :eek:0 -
