    I've been Money Tipped!
Over 24 hours on and no one has ever requested an SAR from their local Police then?

Not surprising though is it? Why would most people wish or need to access personal data from PNC?

I also disagree with your perception that an arrest followed by a release without charge = incompetence.

Law enforcement agencies (not just the police) work within a strict and closely monitored legislative framework. Arrests are often made during scenes of chaos / threats / violence, they may be made to protect evidence, to obtain evidence by questioning or a whole host of very valid reasons.

The arrested person is then taken to an independent Custody Officer who reviews the reasons for arrest and then authorises (or not) continued detention.

All of this activity will be conducted in accordance with relevant legislation and Codes of Practice should always be offered to the arrested person on arrival at the custody suite.

    Have a read of this...

Anyway, charges may not be made for a whole host of reasons that are beyond the control of the Officer...

PNC simply records the facts of the matter.

So innocent people don't get arrested then? They are all guilty and deserve putting through hell?

Think you better read this, absolutely disgusting treatment:
