Hi I'm hoping this will be a simple question and answer! We have four children and receive working tax credits and child tax credit. Can you tell me what joint income myself and husband are allowed to earn before it affects our entitlement. I work part time so there is no child care costs, hubby is self employed. Have been…

OP, if you are caring for your elderly mother, you may be able to claim Carer's Allowance if she receives DLA or Attendance Allowance. There is some criteria to fulfill, but you might want to look into it.
