Can I afford this car?

Hmm, not sure, in the current economic climate, that, at age 23, I'd give up a relatively well paid job to bum around the world for a year.

It's not for everyone but you do only live once and having a well-paid job isn't the be-all and end-all, far from it.

Easy to say.

Another cliche: Money won't bring you happiness but it is a lot easier to be happy with a roof over your head and food in your belly.

I met a skii guide in Val d'Isere. A good looking dude who had to fight women off with a stick, what a life. Over a few beers he told me his story. He taught wind surfing in the summer and was a tennis coach during the autum. Having rich parents enabled him to enjoy his chosen life style. :T

I think you could afford it quite easily but you must understand you will lose thousands by buying one. If this is OK with you then treat yourself, if it isn't then start looking at what you can get for £5k or so. Genuine money savers would never buy a car that's still high up on the depreciation curve.

Also, a quick FYI, a facelift Z4 is out next year (with the engine from the 135i I think!) which may impact used prices of the current model.
