where can I get £2 report?I tried experian, but they now want £15 as "renewal membership"

You don't want membership, you want a statutory report, which you are allowed, by law, to request for £2. They'll post it to you.

I just got one from Equifax. Instant online. I can't see my credti score, but my report is all green.

Don't worry about the lack of a score from Experian. Their magic number isn't a real credit score anyway because they do not provide credit. The number they sell you is only a guesstimate at what your credit score might be if you applied for credit from a 'typical' lender at that moment in time.

As 02 obviously don't want your business, why not upgrade your existing Orange contracts or try T-Mobile, Vodafone etc.

It probably means some incompetent staff member in the 02 shop didn't carry out any credit check, gave you a 'the computer says no' response and got you into this check your credit score/check your credit report panic. Just take your business to another mobile phone provider.

Maybe the best thing to do then is ask O2 why they declined you both? They may not give specifics, but they should point you in the right direction as to what made their decision.

If they say it's something on your credit reports and you're 100% confident that there's nothing on there whatsoever detrimental then I'd appeal.

O2 credit referals are actually pretty good, you can actually email them and talk too them unlike any other network. I once failed an online credit check because Amex declined the identity verification charge lol

There are 3 credit reference agencies and O2 may not conduct a search on all 3.

So to be sure you need an Experian, Equifax and Noddle (used to be called call credit) reports.

There could be a problem you aren't aware of on your credit report, but it could be one of a number of things.

It could be you have just moved and/or you are not on the electoral register. Prehaps you have changed jobs recently, or prehaps you already have a lot of credit availble to you, compared to your salary, that is even if you aren't using it. Another reason could be that you have made several credit applications recently, more than 3 in a short space of time, is generally frowned upon.

Or it could be, a mistake in their credit checking or that they have decided that they don't want you as a customer, which of course is their right.

First place to start is to check all your credit reports, noddle is free online, the other 2 as others have said get £2 paper reports from them. It is worth checking every so often anyway, so just use this as a good reason to get them sent to you.

If nothing is amiss on them, then if it still matters to you, then appeal to O2 to manually do a credit check as you can't see why you are being refused or simply try elsewhere.

Many people including myself have managed to get credit from most places, but find that the odd one will turn us down.
