I don't understand my credit rating!

Guys, pelase help me. I am completely shocked.
My husband and I have got a mortgage, he has 3 credit cards with decent limit. Using them often, never defaulted or missed a payment. I just received a credit card from Barclays with good limits. Both have Orange contract mobiles.
So, today we wanted to change to O2 (to take a contract) and both failed a credit check. I am shocked. How is that possible???
I cant subscribe to Experian to check anymore for free becayse I have been a memebr for a while. Now they want 15£.

Get your £2 reports and see what's on them.

where can I get £2 report?I tried experian, but they now want £15 as "renewal membership"
  • There'll be a link somewhere on their website so that you can order your £2 paper copy, which will obviously be mailed to you.

I just got one from Equifax. Instant online. I can't see my credti score, but my report is all green. Absolutely nothing bad there. In fact, it doesno t show that O2 has carried out a credit check on me.:( What does this all mean?

Could be fraud or they searched experian.

Also it's a good thing you can't see your score as its meaningless.

what do you mean by fraud?
Experian I checked last time 1 month ago and there was all same as I see in current report.
  • Maybe O2 have profiled you as customers they don't want, or maybe they think you're already stretched as it is with the credit you've already got?

I wouldn't think so as they give phone contracts out like macdonalds give out burgers and it's the easiest form of Getting credit possible.

so why cant i get it?:(
  • Maybe the best thing to do then is ask O2 why they declined you both? They may not give specifics, but they should point you in the right direction as to what made their decision.

If they say it's something on your credit reports and you're 100% confident that there's nothing on there whatsoever detrimental then I'd appeal.
