OS Daily Thursday 16th August
Hi, this is the Daily Thread for 14th. This is an “over the garden fence” type thread where we chat about everything Old Style and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what Old Style things we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in,put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an Old Style natter. The more the merrier!

As this is the Old Style Board, it would be appreciated if posts could include some Old Style content. Please be aware that many people may have small screens, or slow internet connections, soplease don’t post large pictures, or clip art – links are preferred.

When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem. Please do not start a new daily thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two daily threads live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new daily thread after they get up in the morning.

Some people who chat here like to try to answer everyone. Don’t feel you have to though, a general “hi everyone, hope everyone’s well” type start does just as well.

Morning all,

Bit gloomy here but no rain yet. Off to work for dd and I.

The plasterer is in today to do the lounge :T:T, OH has taken the day off, its a friend of ours so OH will help him and hopefully get the job done today :T
Cant wait for it to be done, we can start painting once its gone off.

Dinner tonight is fish chips and peas, the boys will probably be working till later, so need something easy.

Will do a wash tonight and put on airer, I also have a first delivery coming from ocado, would not normally shop with them, but they sent me a £20 off coupon, so it was much the same as my normal shop :T

OK better get on, have good days all xx

My wife is at work this afternoon and the Girls will be going to my Mums just before lunch.
Lunch for me today will be a sandwich of some sort. Not sure what I'm going to do for dinner tonight. Last nights even meal for my wife and I was an Asda take away curry.

    Morning Redruby and everyone else.

Sun is out although I am sure more rain is on the way.
Another day pottering at home. Might bake some twinks and a cake as tins are empty.
Got to push vac round and clean the kitchen. Am afraid real deep cleans are off the agenda until kids are back at school. As soon as it something away they get out something else, not to mention demands for my attention.

Not sure what's for tea at the moment :o

Hugs and spoons all round xxx

    Good Morning All

Lovely and sunny here at the moment :j just about to put the washing on the line.

Todays plans are - off out at 9.30 to pick up DD from a friends. Potter around the house for a while then off out again after lunch as taking the kids to a rope runners course. Basically they will be climbing trees and zip wiring though some woods. I am not joining them but I am instead watching with the camera. Hopefully will be a good day as DS has been driving us all mad lately - he has really turned into a stroppy teenager.

We may get dinner on the way home so will only need to worry about cooking for OH when we get in. There is loads in the freezer so wont be a problem.

Off now - need to get dressed, always a good idea :rotfl:

    Have a great day all.x

Grey and drizzly here, but needed to wash, so clothes will have to go in the TD as I'm off to work this morning.

DS's GF got her A-level results, A*, A and 2 Bs; think she's dead chuffed (and relieved!) - spent some time here last night all stressed out, poor lass! She'll get on the Uni course she wants, so pleased she doesn't have to go through the nightmare of clearing! :rotfl:

Littlies will be having tea at my sister's, as she's got them when I'm at work, will be freezer surprise for the rest of us, or beans on toast.

Have a good day, hugs and kisses all round, hope any more A-levellers get good news! :D

    A xo

    Morning everyone,

Cheapskate Well done to DSs GF!!

    Judi How are things?

JackieO How were the results of DGD Danny's scan?

Off to school this morning to see how my pupils have done in their A levels, I am really nervous so they must be far worse!
DS has one result to pick up today (additional maths) but most of his results are due next week as they are GCSEs.

Good luck to everyone getting exam results today.

    Have a lovely day everyone.:)

    Morning

Quite sunny here (at the moment). Just got back from a 4 day holiday. We should have been there till Saturday but the tent got flooded in the rain yesterday so we had no choice but to come home. Oh well onwards and upwards! Think I will have a do nothing day once the washings been done and the tent aired.

    Have a good day everyone

Bright & sunny here today, the DFGC were as good as gold, no trouble at all I bought them both a comic & an icecream. I managed to clean the windows inside yesterday.
Today's plans include putting petrol in the car & Cifing the window frames. I also need to cancel the B&B for one of out nights away next week. I'm fuming, exMIL has a hospital appointment, my ex 'is too busy' to go with her, my exBIL is in China on holiday so my DD2 is going to do it, so I am cancelling one day of my 3 day holiday so I can babysit the DGC whilst DD2 goes to support her grandma, my ex is too busy even to babysit! 10 years divorced & he is still causing me problems, but I need to do what I can for DD2 & the ex MIL.
    And breath..................
    Time I made another cuppa.
    Have a lovely day everyone.
    Hugs Hester

    Morning All,

Off work this week, woo hoo!! Getting a shed delivered today so putting a curry in the slow cooker and taking the kids to buy goldfish later as promised yesterday (something I feel I'll come to regret!)

Has anybody had any experience with T*sco Kitchens? I am considering arranging a home design visit as they have an offer on at the moment but I don't know of anybody who has had any home improvements through them?

Have a nice day everybody :-)

    Ooooh lucky you ;)

I don't know what bit me the other day, the thing was nowhere to be seen. The bite is completely flat and looks like a little love bite :undecided I can't find anything on google that matches it.

The towels have been on the line overnight, they're almost dry. Wish they'd hurry up, neighbour is coming round with a disc cutter and a breaker to get rid of the concrete. Don't want dusty washing :D

Apart from covering all the neighbour's gardens in dust, today I'll just be pottering about. I should potter more often, I seem to end up getting more done that way.
