DS's GF got her A-level results, A*, A and 2 Bs; think she's dead chuffed (and relieved!) - spent some time here last night all stressed out, poor lass! She'll get on the Uni course she wants, so pleased she doesn't have to go through the nightmare of clearing! :rotfl:
A xo

Hi Guys!
Nurses came at 7.30 this morning, so not too bad. Feeling very tired today as didn't sleep very well.
Today we need to finish off getting together stuff for our few days away. Ive done a food shop direct to the holiday home and will just take a few bits with us. All my stuff (meds/machines/clothes) basically done and all toiletries packed. Bedding and towels there and she does a little welcome pack including milk, bread, biscuit, sugar, tea, cif spray, eggs and loo rolls. Trying to get it all our stuff into 1 holdall.
OH checking the car later (oil/water/screen wash/tyres/etc), but he's been busy since 5 working. Also got to get my repeat prescription in.
Friend just text to say her DD got 3 A's in Sociology, Law and Biology, so thats her off to Uni next month. Great news! Hope everyone else gets the results they want.
Have a good day.

Morning all
Good luck for all those getting results today.
Sunny here this morning, but rain is forecast for later.
It's the work kids last official day with us today. They are doing their presentation after lunch. Not been a bad bunch, a little frustrating at times, but they are very funny! Tomorrow is their last day and we are meant to be going to a theme park. And then I'm off work for a week :j.
I'm going to shops after work to look for a new sports bra and some other bits. I have £10 in M&S vouchers from my M&S CC so will have a look there.
OS wise - packed lunch made, recycling sorted, need to hoover. Dinner will probably be something from the freezer.
Have a good day all

Morning all. Looks nice and sunny here.
Hester
Ex really is not sowing much except clarity re his selfishness, neglect and lack of empathy or even basic human awareness. You are well off out of it apart from your dds who sound great. (must take after their mother).:A
How did people find out results this early? DD has just set off for school with older sister as moral support to find out her grades.
She checked online and the university she applied for has accepted her so she is a very relieved girl!!! Two older sisters both had to go through clearing which was no fun at the time but they ended up doing courses they loved.
Just heard from dd down south and she got the job move she was interviewed for on Monday so she is happy too. BF treating her to nice meal last night to celebrate.
DDs and me (or I) are going to big shopping centre later and I will treat them to meal etc.
Made chicken and mushroom puff pastry pies last night with mash and DH will have one for his lunch while we are out and can have a peaceful day in the garden.
Tonights meal will probably be chicken and veg pasta as I have stir fry type veg in fridge to use up and need to remember to defrost some chicken pieces.
Hugs to all and see you later."This site is addictive!"

Good morning all,
Bright and sunny here today. Wm is on, so one of the girls will get that hung out for me as my back is playing up at the moment.
I have a bag of french beans to prepare for the freezer. Two melons to chop and put in containers for the fridge. Everyone seems to eat them when they are like that.
Well done to those getting their A level results today :T.
Don't know what we are having for tea tonight. It will either be baked liver and onion with veg or omelette with new potatoes and salad.
I hope everyone has a good day and hugs to those who need them.

Wow some fabulous results xxxI must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer.
Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration.
I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over and through me. When it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path.
When the fear has gone there will be nothing. Only I will remain.0 -
Good Morning All!
Friend's daughter round yesterday to see DGD ( bless her, she's so kind to give up her time to see littlie) and she was so anxious about today's AS results! She's likely to be doing medicine eventually, so we'll all be really surprised if she hasn't done well, but quite understand her nervousness! Really hope that those collecting their results today will be rewarded for all their hard work. I'd hate to be back at that stage again!
Woke up just after 5am so crept down and got the WM on and then spent some time sorting out my to-do list. Also did some knitting for DGD's school cardigan. Am thinking of taking it in to John Lewis where I bought the wool as the first ball has knitted up with the odd paler line. Having now joined in the second ball I think it's really obvious. I think there's a fault in the dyeing process.
Hester, well done you on supporting your DD to help her gran out - and what a selfish ex you have, not clearing time for his own mother when she needs support!
DGD returns home tomorrow, so I think I need to start the process of going through every room to make sure she takes home all she came with! We are going to miss her so much - even though it will be nice to be able to just relax a bit more!
Am hoping to go through the freezer and really write down all that's in there so I can incorporate what we've paid for already into the meal plan. Finances are a wee bit stretched at the moment so will be really making every penny work hard.
I hope you all have a good day today, with more laughter than mishaps - tho' your experience with the cake yesterday made me chuckle, monnogran!
Take care everyone!Resolution:

Good morning redruby and all,
Beautiful sunny day here. ive just been out to do the daily garden duties and its going to be a lovely day i think. Blue skies, gentle breeze, yes its going to be a good day.
I am going to take back 2 unused rolls of wallpaper today to the shop we bought them from. At £23 a roll i am hoping the money will go towards some new ceiling and wall lights for the living room. The old ones though not shabby, look old and dated so fingers crossed for me.
Good news about DS GF's exam results Cheapskate. So pleased for her. Its not too long now (just days) till we get the kids GCSE results. I'm hoping my son will do well as his place at college depends on it. He collects them on the 23rd and has an appointment at the college on the 25th (remind me to check dates later).
Moorhen thanks for asking about me. Things are pretty good with my son at the moment. He had an ultrasound on his liver last week and all is well. I speak to him every couple of days and he seems happy and focussed. For the time being ive just got one son to worry about i hope.
Ive been thinking a lot about retirement lately. Have any of you got any plans for your retirement? Are any of you living out your plans for your retirement? I know what i want but it aint gonna happen so i need to start planning instead of dreaming.
Have a great day all.0 -
Morning All!
Love and hugs to those that need it.
My slight sore throat from Tuesday night, yesterday turned into massive sore throat, and today throat is no longer sore but I can barely talk and I seem to be trying to cough up a lung. Just what I don't need when my next day off is the 28th!
Very little OS going on here today, it's our main shopping day but we don't need too much most of what I have to go out and get is bits for a leaving present.
No idea what is for dinner... I've not really been wanting to eat and I've batch cooked plenty for the parents.
Good days all round! xx0
