I have a Dyson DC24 Multi Floor. It's about a third the size of a normal dyson, with a retractable handle for easier storage. I bought it when I hurt my back and couldn't move a heavier vacuum. It's very light and with the ball is easy to manoeuvre. Got mine about 5 years ago, think the RRP was about £225, but that's probably gone up by now. There's a range of DC24s now I think (know someone with a DC24 Animal). I'll definitely buy another when this one dies.

aeg ergorapido plus is very good, around £99 and is a rechargeable handheld but you can do the whole house with it, bigger than a normal handheld. My friends dad recommended it and I am glad I bought one

They're £290 now. But you can get a recon one from Man Vacs for £159. It'll be as good as new and comes with a 6 month warranty.
And I no have no connection with this company (just a repeat customer).

I second this. It depends how big your house is, but you can get a decent amount of hoovering out of it, very light, easy to move, flexible, great for laminate.
Though no one can go back and make a brand new start, anyone can start from now and make a brand new ending

Battery ones are convenient, but none have the suction power of a mains vacuum cleaner., and at full suction the running times are very short.
