Mr. Helpful strikes again, maybe that's what the name means. :T

Well I have not had much time recently. Been spending all my hours in The Halifax telling them what a worthless bank they are.:p

Personally i wouldn't want all the hassle of tracking it down, I would just put the money in a seperate account for safe keeping, and when they ask for it back, i would give it back. Certainly don't be tempted to spend it, because they could just take it straight out of ur account.

    IMO Bad advice.
Leave the money where it is pretend it is not there.

How can I find out from my Bank who has made a payment into my account ?

I had another pay in earlier this month so I phoned my Bank and asked them to refuse the payment. After a bit of 'pleading' with them they said they would refuse it and the payer should get in touch by letter.
After one week I got a letter from Funds network (Fidelity)with a cheque for the amount and would I like to sign a mandate for future payins or to re-invest the money.
I phoned them and all is now as I want it to be.

So - it is my money and I shall celebrate with a wee dram.
My thanks to all who replied to my query. & :money:
