Robin I like the sound of all that hot weather but can understand why it's a pain if you're not a holidaymaker. I also like the sound of having to buy new clothes. I had a ruthless cull of my summer clothes last year and left myself with hardly anything but thanks to eBay have re-stocked! Just waiting for summer to come back now! Sending woofs from my dog to yours.I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)0

Just caught up - your evocative use of language is making me long for a Spanish summer! Your description of the goings on in the riverbed was hugely enjoyable.
I'm so sorry to read you've had some low moods recently, it must be hard sometimes living alone. But in better, connected news, I'm so glad to see CD is still very much bounding about the place.
I really hope you haven't been wandering the place in jean and jumpers in lieu of anything more suitable in this heat! Really ruins my mental picture of you if nothing else.Barclaycard [STRIKE] £2770 [/STRIKE] now £2690.

Hello Diary and aspiring debt-free Friends,
:hello:
Thanks for popping in Sun.A and Fudgie.Wrote a reply earlier but forgot to post, ran out of time 'n shut down lappy so lost it..
Try again, eh? (This may be a long post; be warned dear friends):Sun_Addict wrote: »Robin I like the sound of all that hot weather but can understand why it's a pain if you're not a holidaymaker.
Must be honest and say I prefer the cooler seasons in Andalusia, although the summer is when we have the best chances to bond with our Spanish neighbours, simply because there are so many parties - most villages have at least two. :beer:Sun_Addict wrote: »I also like the sound of having to buy new clothes. Thanks; that's an excellent idea - will see what I can find on-line.
Anything to avoid shopping in person; find it quite enervating and almost always pick up some kind of bug..Sun_Addict wrote: »Just waiting for summer to come back now! Sending woofs from my dog to yours.
Sun.A, am trying to practise my telekinetic powers every day, but all attempts to push the big yellow ball your way appear to be sadly ineffective so far..
Will keep trying, ok? :rotfl:

Well, guess it's inevitable to think of all the "last time" and "might have been" things as day after day inexorably rolls past, towards the anniversary of the one on which my dear PC left our world. :A
It has helped immeasurably that all of you dear friends-in-the-Box are sharing my journey, with an extra special thanks for everyone who posts in this diary. :TFudgefund wrote:I really hope you haven't been wandering the place in jean and jumpers in lieu of anything more suitable in this heat! Hmmpf, for the last week at least that would have been pure torture! No dear girl; every night m' one decent pair of light trews are dumped in a bucket of wash-stuff and given a stir. If I rinse 'em out and hang them on the line at 'first P' then they're dry by sunup..
..Did you really want to know that? :rotfl:
Must admit it's becoming a little tedious, but there's no way am going to parade even in front of Daft Dogs, wearing either of the now over-sized frocks!
This morning I did something rather special. Am literally still buzzing because today Divos One, Four and I went for the birthday treat that had been postponed last week.
There was a very small hiccup at the rendezvous; when DGS saw our destination he let out a despairing wail:
"I don't want Daddy to go in that tiny 'plane!" ..He was quickly pacified with a cuddle from Mum and by all the interesting new sights, including several other 'planes lining up and taking off - heading for an air-display along the coast.
Four took his seat next to the pilot, One and I climbed into the back - the cockpit was roomier than I'd expected. Our pilot spent five minutes explaining the controls, then said to Four:
"Off you go - turn right onto the runway!"
Four took the controls with more confidence than one would expect* and we taxied smoothly to the end. Now this was already more than any of us had bargained for; we'd signed up for a jaunt not a lesson.
But the pilot motioned Four to carry on, so following his instructions - Four sent us soaring into the air!
* One grabbed me at that point, shouting into my ear over the roar of the engine:
"Wonder what our pilot would say if he knew that Four has never ever driven a powered vehicle before!"
..We survived, :j and it was AMAZING!:T

An oversized dress is at least immeasurably better than an under sized one (I suffer from the opposite problem). :rotfl:I also absolutely hate clothes shopping in person, online shopping is definitely the way forward.
Your trip sounds absolutely terrifying!! I remember you mentioning you were booking a surprise for someone a while ago, you picked a good one.Funnily enough we bought something similar for my Dad for his 65th, but no one wants to go up with him. I have a feeling it'll fall to me, even though I feel sick in tall buildings.

Apologies for the abrupt cut-off to my last post; visitors arrived. Did my hostly duty - which was a pleasure.
Five minutes after waving off the first lot some more turned up. Then a third party - it must have been visit-a-granny-who-lives-alone-day.
Did m'best, but in the end simply had to apologise because exhaustion set in - reached the point of lie down or fall down now.
For once sleep was not elusive.
Sometime in the night FD started squeaking; struggling stiffly to get up.
Spoke to Dear Vet this morning, she thinks arthritis could be to blame so I'm to start FD on the same pills the Old 'Uns had. If they don't help it will mean another trip to the clinic next week.An oversized dress is at least immeasurably better than an under sized one (I suffer from the opposite problem). :rotfl:I also absolutely hate clothes shopping in person, online shopping is definitely the way forward.
Fair point.Am not too keep on the 'tented city' look so will have a browse online when boredom sets in (- might not be for a while, lol).
please-let-me-be-lucky wrote:Your day sounds amazing
Certainly different to most of my days, Lucky.
Wrote the above this morning but had to go horizontal abruptly again before posting.
Woke up choking on foul gloop dripping down m'throat; sinuses completely blocked all day yet constantly leaking.. Lungs on fire and thumping head. Yuk yuk
Think caught it from visitor number three who was on her first trip out after suffering something very similar. She flew away today so has probably also infected some of her fellow travellers - must be very contagious as we didn't share hugs and kept at least a metre apart..
Am only upright and on-line now to check the properties of a medication Doc prescribed for a similar virus last year; worth a try as I can't drive to the Medico in this state - haven't even watered the garden as m'balance isn't good enough to get down the steps safely.
Hoping Divo Four turns up soon to watch the new French serial on TV; we were both surprised how well we understood it last week; definitely worth following the drama [if I can stay awake, lol].
Will try and finish this post tomorrow; sorry for the interruption folks.0 -
