    Morning :hello:

    Happy Birthday DG :bdaycake:

I've only just woken up  Mr tru was snoring his head off at about 1am, which woke me. I felt an itch on my back which turned to a painful itch in a few seconds, so I sat up and sort of swiped it quite hard. Something hit the wall next to me  I decided to sleep downstairs but couldn't drop off for a couple of hours because it was so hot. I've googled bed bugs, it's not that. I'm going to close the door and window in our room then empty a can of Raid into it :D

Friend has said he'll finish our patio this weekend so today I have to move everything from under the shelter. Bit of a nightmare - we've been using it as a dumping ground :D Good exercise though, my body needs it.

    morning!

pouring down here but I was good and got up and was out mowing the lawn at 8am:A:D and managed to just get it done before it poured!

I'm now making some celery soup with A*di 39p celery.

Afterwards I want to use up a bit of leftover broccoli and make a broccoli and new spud bake - in small indiividual dishes so I can freeze them. I mught take one to work for my tea.

Got a basket of ironing to do as well then I'm off to work for a late shift.

Happy Birthday Donny:beer: hope you have a great day x x

JackieO - good luck to your grandson. It's lovely reading about your family - you obviously love them all to bits and they sound like a grand bunch:) have a great well-deserved holiday x

Thats about it for now, have a great day all x

    Morning all

    Happy birthday DG

Blowing a gale here and raining :( and tonight I'm meant to be going to an outdoor Shakespeare performance :(, ah well! It is on indoors if it rains, but it's not the same as sitting in the castle grounds with a picnic :rotfl:.

Work kids finalising their presentation today and shifting stuff up to the new building ready for it (we were meant to have moved in June time!)

OS wise - packed lunch made, dishes washed, not sure on dinner yet as my plans have changed probably something from the freezer.

    Have a good day all

    Good Morning All

    :beer:Happy Birthday Donny - have a lovely day:beer:

    Good Luck JackieO's DGS

Warm and humid here again today, think rain is forcast - will save me watering tonight.

Been a stressful couple of days with work and stuff and once again am behind on office work and house work :( so today have no real plans and hope to catch up a little. Really would like everything done by the weekend as the forcast is scorchio :)

Not sure what is for dinner tonight, everyone will be home for dinner (for the first time in ages) so will have a little look in the freezer and try to please everyone :o

Made roasted butternut squash for the first time this week, none of us liked it - far too sweet:( so that wont be making a repeat appearance on the menu plan.

Best get going, at least to make another coffee :rotfl:

    Have a great day all.x

    Good morning Jackie0 and all,

Happy birthday DonnyG i hope you have a lovely day.

I was up bright and early this morning did my daily garden duties quite early on which i'm glad about as its now chucking down with rain.

The beds are stripped and bedding in the washer but it looks like using the tumble dryer to dry them.
Well I totally failed crochet :( I was her first failure  How can it be so difficult

I know the feeling i bought a hook and a couple of balls of wool with all the best intentions of crocheting a few granny squares with the intention of making a baby blanket. I know i can crochet, i crochetted quite a lot as a teenager but do you think i could remember how to start off? After many failed attempts i gave up in the end. Thank goodness i only spent £5.

Halight enjoy your trip to Birmingham. I havent been for a while but last time i went i couldnt believe how it had changed since i was there last. My favourite place is Selfridges, i could spend hours browsing that one shop alone.

Hilstep, i'm glad losing weight has made a difference to your BP, unfortunately losing weight didnt lower my BP in the slightest (or maybe i just havent lost enough). Your BP readings are smack on. I wish my readings are as low as yours. Which reminds me, i ought to start taking readings as i am a fortnight into my new medication.

Tea will probably be mince tonight though i'm not sure whether i'll be doing a shepherds pie or bolegnese. I'll go with the flow i think.

    Have a dry day all,

    Judi xxx

    Hi all.

A tad damp here today – I just had to nip out and fetch the washing in sharpish!

    Happy Birthday DG.

JackieO I bet your youngest DD really appreciates her DH; after a bad experience first time around, it's amazing to find that it can be better – I know, believe me!;) Here's hoping Danny's results are OK.:o

Molly don't fret, I can't crochet, either. I suspect it's one of those tasks I shall never be able to do right-handed, and I don't know any left-handers to teach me.:D

Hester sorry to hear about exMIL's illness.:(

Halight yes I remember how big and clunky phones used to be – it was like carting a housebrick around!:D Tbh, I wouldn't bother having one at all, but Mr LW insists, in case I get in difficulties when he's at work, or if I'm out dog-walking, I can at least call for aid. :o

I don't have a smartphone though, just a basic one that does calls, texts and photos. I'm on a contract, but a very inexpensive one – I was going to have pay-as-you-go, but being more or less housebound if Mr LW isn't here, if I ran out of credit and then needed help, I'd be in deep doo-doo!

Bitsy it's how the pud tastes that's important – if it's anything like here, it won't sit around on the plate to be admired for it's looks!;)

Tru OMG I'd be panicking til I found out what the something that hit the wall was!

It's Mr LW's last day taking his anti-flybotics today; and he's gone back to work, too.:T I mean, I love having him at home, but I don't want him to be here cos he's too poorly to be at work, iyswim.:o

My little Lhasa Apso friends Derek & Clive have arrived for an eight-day holiday with me; they're dear little chaps, and they both ran in through the front door with their little tails wagging, which is great.:o

I think the steroid injection is starting to take effect - my shoulder wasn't quite as bad this morning - hoping this improvement continues!:o

Mushroom risotto for our dins tonight, and we have some lovely dates that we can use up by way of a pud.;)
If your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)

    Good Afternoon all!
Have just brought the washing back indoors - but in fact most of it is dry enough to be put away, which was a nice surprise!
Have had a successful morning with DGD - 3 x 10 minutes "work" on Maths/writing interspersed with episodes of Tom and Jerry! Real bribery and corruption, but she did her work with a good grace! If we can do the same tomorrow she'll go home Friday with a reasonable amount covered in all - despite the fact that last week was a real "banging my head against a brick wall" time! ( And for me it's Old Style as I remember doing the same with her dad and uncle over their reading practice!!!)
Whilst she's been watching I've been doing some HW so all round a good result!
We also made some fairy cakes as the vicar's daughter (17), who looks after DGD in church for me, is popping round to see her before she goes home. Very kind of her to make the time to please a five year old I think.
DS has a flat in London to move into hopefully next week sometime! We always thought there'd be stuff available post Olympics, and thankfully it's proved to be the case. he's feeling a lot happier, although it'll mean a new mental health team as he's had to move out of Westminster.
Hope today is good for all of you - special thoughts for anyone feeling miserable/not well just now. Take care.
    Resolution:
    Think twice before spending anything!

Has there been an earthquake or meteor strike? Did the world end at lunchtime and nobody thought to tell me? WHERE HAVE YOU ALL GONE?

I don't know why I haven't thought of this before but I've moved my ironing board next to my computer and when it starts playing silly bu&&ers I do a bit of ironing until it starts working again. So far while on this thread I have ironed a complete set of bedding, a tricky shirt, a long skirt and a pile of teatowels. Yep. I'm the saddo who irons teatowels. When the screen freezes or the cursor takes a tea break I'm dashing away with the smoothing iron.

Nearly finished the pew cushions today. Just another 16 to have the ends hand sewn. They look gorgeous.

Lunch went down very well. They were lucky to get pudding, I was just transferring the choc fudge cake to the box I was packing everything in when I dropped it and the cake landed on the carpet upside down.
Cake in pieces and a lake of choc fudge on the cream carpet. Elderly lady having hysterics.

Melded bits of cake together, made fresh choc fudge and plastered it all together. Scraped as much as possible of carpet and thanked heaven for Poundlands StainXapp. It worked the miracle and we now have a clean patch in the middle of the carpet.

Will post this and see if anyone else is alive.
