OS Daily Wednesday 15th August
Hi, this is the Daily Threadf or 14th. This is an “over the garden fence” type thread where we chat about everything Old Style and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what Old Style things we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in,put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an Old Style natter. The more the merrier!

As this is the Old Style Board, it would be appreciated if posts could include some Old Style content. Please be aware that many people may have small screens, or slow internet connections, soplease don’t post large pictures, or clip art – links are preferred.

When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem. Please do not start a new daily thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two daily threads live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new daily thread after they get up in the morning.

Some people who chat here like to try to answer everyone. Don’t feel you have to though, a general “hi everyone, hope everyone’s well” type start does just as well.

Good Morning everyone ,golly it was a humid night last night.Sunny at the moment but light rain forecast by lunchtime.
Busy day at DD today I shall be scrubbing and cleaning for her as she doesn't finish work until Friday night .The boys will give me a hand bless them as they are quite good when it comes to hoovering etc.
We may have a treat afterwards out of my 'happy stash'
It was youngest DDs wedding anniversery yesterday and she posted a phot of her and herOh on my FB page and she looked gorgeous. He husband Simon looked like the cat who had got the cream bless him.I shall never forget his face when the doors opened and she stood there with he Dad proudly on her arm Si burst into tears as he was so happy. He is a lovely chap and adores her even after four boys and 14 years. Her first marriage sadly didn't last and when she met her second husband she was very wary and at first just refused to contenance the idea of getting married again. He wore her down and on their wedding day bless him he just couldn't stop smiling
He is totally opposite from her first OH and a real home body who's idea of a good time is to be with her and their boys A very hands-on Dad and step Dad to her DD.They will never be rich financially but their house though slightly battered and worn is full of love and laughter and children which is what she always wanted when a little girl.
Well time I got a wriggle on and had some breakfast and a shower before setting off to her house for the day.DGS Danny will see his Dr today about the results of his echo yesterday, fingers crossed all will be well.he says he feels fine.
I hope everyone has a great day what ever you are doing
Take care all

Good luck to your DGS Jackie O xx

Well I totally failed crochet :( I was her first failure  How can it be so difficult
I think it made me realise just how bad my hand - eye co-ordination is now:(

I was pondering this in the middle of the night and cant quite work out where I went wrong. However I can still deliver a baby in my sleep (with complications) as I also did that in my dreams last night and it was vivid on my memory this morning. A good skill to have but not really OS!

Oh well need to wake up - Have a good day xx
I must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer.
Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration.
I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over and through me. When it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path.
When the fear has gone there will be nothing. Only I will remain.

Morning JackieO and all who cross and follow.

    Nearly holidays Jackie-3 more sleeps!

Overcast here but warm. I had the fan on all night. Not OS but the only way to sleep.

In bed with lappie but will get up in a minute to put a load of washing in. Food bank this morning and then a friend is coming to mine for lunch so will be leaving early today. I spent a lot of yesterday sorting, weighing and shelving food at Foodstore Central that we collected on Monday. 437 kilos! I know because I weighed and recorded the lot. LOL!

Oh has pulled chicken from freezer so curry for tea.

Hugs and kind words to all who need them.

    Have a good day.

PS Molly I did the same thing! Cost me £25 for a crochet hook and a muddle of wool LOL. haven't tried again....

Overcast & muggy here today, worry time was only an hour from 3am 'til 4am.
I have the little foster children here today as DD1 has a meeting with Police & SS for the bigger one, we will go & feed the ducks & have icecream.
I shan't get much done until the children have gone & maybe not even then once we've done the river & the park I may be out of energy, lol.
I found out last night that my ex MIL has breast cancer, DD2 is in a panic as Dr's are saying it's treatable, but DD2 want's to know why they aren't saying it's curable, ex MIL is 85.
Time I fed the fish & made hubby's packup.
    Have a good day everyone.
    Hugs Hester

HH, the doctors are probably concerned that surgery, chemo or radiotherapy could be too much for an elderly lady to cope with, so are more concerned with making her comfortable rather than removing or shrinking it. I know my mum was 75 when she was diagnosed again and her treatment choices were more limited because of her age and her heart condition.

    Morning all,

:bdaycake: Happy Birthday to Donny, have a fab day xxxx

So hot here last night, made it difficult to sleep, think we are due rain today.

Off to work for me, so an easy dinner of fresh pasta, they had 3 for £1 in the shop up the road, will have some garlic bread and salad.

Good luck to young Danny with his results.

House looks ok ish, but its hard to keep as clean as I would like, due to the chaos the lounge is causing.

    Have good days all xx

Sunny but cool here this morning.

Well my wife is not at work today. So the four of us are off to Birmingham. I have to got the apple shop as my iPhone has stopped working:mad: I phoned them up on Monday and they will swap it over for a brand new one, I should think so as well its only three months old. They did tell me on the phone that the problem that iv had with it (charging it up) Has been a common one in the UK, Anyway its sorted now and i will get a new one in a few hours. Iv been without a phone now since Saturday:eek: You really miss the dam things when you don't have them! I'm 32 now and Iv had a phone since i was 16, That was 1996, Iv always had one since. When i look back at how big and useless they were back then to what we have today with our smartphones well its truly amazing:j:j

Lunch today will be sandwich's, I'm not sure what we will be having for dinner tonight.

Well I hope that you all have a great day.

    Enjoy:j:j
:jYou can have everything you wont in lfe, If you only help enough other people to get what they wont.:j

    Morning everyone :D

Beautiful morning, hope it lasts :)
Think I am going to take the kids and dog for a picnic. Being at home is taking its toll on the bickering and my patience so good idea for us to get out of the house. Luna will come too, will pack the waterproofs in case ;)
I guess I had better pull my finger out and start organising some food for us to take.

Sorry not much OS......made a lovely chocolate sponge and chocolate sauce pudding in my Remoska which received less than flattering comments about how it looked on FB :rotfl: still it was lush and made in half an hour. That's the sort of pud that will do me :D

Donnygal happy birthday  have a great day x

Hugs and spoons all round xxx

Morning everyone, overcast and muggy here too. Have an exercise class this morning, then lunch with a dear friend and up to my OH for the evening. NO COOKING TODAY, I actually normally quite like cooking, but haven't got the energy at the moment to think of what to make. Made some hamburgers on Monday and they did last night as well.
    Nothing OS at all.
Hugs to all that are having a tough or worrying time.

    Morning everyone,

Molly I think being able to deliver a baby is a little more important than being able to crochet!

JackieO Best wishes for Danny's results.

    Donny Happy birthday.

Hester Hugs., I have worry time too but mine tends to be during the day.

Need to wake the tribe in a minute as my friend is coming to cut all their hair, don't think that DS has been up this early in over a month!

I am going out for lunch with 2 friends today and really looking forward to it.

    Have a lovely day everyone.:)

It was overcast here until 20 minutes ago, but now the sun's out, so WM on and hope to get out with the littlies this morning, as we're forecast heavy rain by lunchtime. Very humid last night, woke up all hot and bothered! :D

Took the littlies brambling yesterday, not many ready yet but we got enough to cook with some sugar and have with arctic roll - scrummy! :rotfl: Will keep going every other day, weather permitting, and fill the freezer.

Tea will be LO shepherd's pie for me and the kids, mystery tea for DH later on. If it does rain we'll bake this afternoon and freeze some for another day.

Have a good day everyone, hugs and kisses for those in need.

    A xo
