Quickest Way to Drive into Central London
                    Hi
Im taking my son and niece round the sights for a day and was planning on going on a hop on hop off bus. We want to be there for the full day and to avoid taking the kids through rush hour on the tube we were hoping to drive into the edge of the congestion zone, park around Whitchappel/Wapping, park the car for the day, walk to tower hill and then get the hop on/hop off from there for the day.
I can come from A1, M1 or M11 what do people think it the quickest route into to central london on a midweek morning. Possibly around 8am-10am.
Alternativly can anyone else recommend an to easy access place, with potential car parking, where the tourist buses pass close by?
It will be before the paralympics start if it makes much difference.
Thanks for all your help.

I was planning on parking further out and just getting a day pass but my boy is only 5 which is why I thought best to get the hop on hop off buses so was looking to park close to one of the main sites.
Used M11 last time but know there isnt going to be a magic fast route!0

When are you planning on doing this as that area has traffic problems due to the Olympic routes ATM0

Certain parts of London are quieter than normal eg Euston Road is a dream at the moment, I would chose the M1.0

I would hire a Ferrari and travel around 2AM, and simply floor it on every straight, ignore red lights, and treat every corner as the last.
The car parks should be nice and empty then as well.
 I would take the train.0
