  • Another case of an OP not liking good advice because it's not what they want to hear? I'm not sure a mother should be legally able to cancel a daughters direct debit.

You're way off the mark !!! I just wanted a clarification as the last person has kindly done ~ as far as cancelling the D/D ~ It comes from MY bank a/c ~ so think I'm good there too....
    Saved £££'s using coupons/discount codes/cashbacks
Done the Edinburgh Moonwalk 2010(yeh !)
Signed up to do....Woman's 10K Glasgow run
Great Scottish Run and St Andrew's Hospice 6K run and Midnight walk (13 mile)

  • We are not trying to get out of paying what is due ~ only we do not want them to take money they are not entitled to and so the only option until they agree to a pro rata amount was to cancel the D/D.

I'm not suggesting you are trying to "get out" of anything, although it is evident that there is a misunderstanding over your contractual obligations to DW Fitness - hence the contractual dispute.

In any event, cancelling a direct debit is not, in any way shape or form, a solution.
