OS Daily Thread Tuesday 14th August

OS Daily Tuesday 14th August
Hi, this is the Daily Threadf or 14th. This is an “over the garden fence” type thread where we chat about everything Old Style and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what Old Style things we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in,put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an Old Style natter. The more the merrier!

As this is the Old Style Board, it would be appreciated if posts could include some Old Style content. Please be aware that many people may have small screens, or slow internet connections, soplease don’t post large pictures, or clip art – links are preferred.

When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem. Please do not start a new daily thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two daily threads live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new daily thread after they get up in the morning.

Some people who chat here like to try to answer everyone. Don’t feel you have to though, a general “hi everyone, hope everyone’s well” type start does just as well.

Morning everyone,

Where are you all this morning?

Tru Hugs to you.

Hilstep Good luck with the diet.

The sun is out again here this morning and WM is nearly finished. Even though I am on holiday from work OH's alarm goes off at 6 30 every morning and I can't get back to sleep afterwards so i am up as well.

Have a productive day planned, supermarket, cleaning, decluttering and a visit to the building society to sort out the kids saving accounts.

Have a lovely day everyone.:)

Morning Moorhen & all who cross/follow
I've been a lazy slug-a-bed today & only just got up, that's because I woke up for worry time from 1am to 4am. Still at least I have a selection of things to worry about so I don't get bored.
I have a load of washing done from yesterday that I need to hang on the line & the DW needs unloading.
Work for me this morning, I shall go in when I drop hubby off. The power is going off at 1ish so I shall come home then & carry on clearing out the spare room & I need to vacuum under my bed before the dust bunnies try to attack us in the night.
Tea tonight will be something with mince.
    Have a good day everyone.
    Hugs Hester

I like the concept of worry time and generally Im awake at the same time worrying too. So at least you know you are not on your own.

Thanks to Moorhen for starting the thread this morning.

Im off to a crocheting workshop today as I have always wanted to learn so wish me luck.

I posted this link on the Tough Board and wondered if you would be interested to read.

Hugs for a good day x
I must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer.
Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration.
I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over and through me. When it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path.
When the fear has gone there will be nothing. Only I will remain.

    Morning all,

Bright and breezy here, not sure I have any washing, will go and hunt some down.

Managed to do the whole house yesterday from top to bottom, the kitchen and bathroom has a good going over, today I need to drop dd at work, come back and do an online shop, then see dad, which I did not get chance to do yesterday.

I also made 2 meat cottage pies and 2 veggie ones, one for yesterday and one for the freezer, easy meal for when we are laying the floor next week.

Dinner today is roast pork and all the trimmings.

Tru, so sorry to hear about Daisy,

    Have good days all xx

    Morning :hello:

If I'm late letting the chickens out, they're usually crowded at the door and shoot out before I've had a chance to open it wide. But this morning, I opened the door expecting a stampede and they were all sat on their perches. I had to wait a couple of minutes before they moved. One even had a quick scoot around the garden then headed back to the shed, I'm sure she was looking for Daisy

The broad beans and peas are over, we've pulled the plants out and the chickens are munching on them. We've pulled the onions up, some aren't very big but they seemed really wet and would've rotted if left any longer. So today I need to dig those areas over. There's plenty of weeds, which will keep the girls happy :D The greenhouse plants have gone mad, there's loads of tomatoes, peppers and chillies.

Mr tru loves HM yogurt - I can't stand the stuff - so he made some overnight. He prefers it Greek-stylee so I'm straining it through some muslin atm. I'm not sure how long to leave it, will a couple of hours do?

    Morning Al,
Just a quick one, off to have my roots done.:rotfl:

Woke at 2 and went back at 3, but okay now. Just shampooed the hall carpet. Cat did a wee on the mat on Sunday night, he hasn't used a litter tray for three months, so I got rid of it then he did this!

Diet started last night. Quiche and salad for dinner. This morning Porridge and strawberries. 11stone 12lb this morning.

I managed to get up to see my Dad in his nursing home on my mobility scooter yesterday. I have been a bit nervous about the battery, but although it was slow, (it's uphill a lot of the way) I got there. Coming back was a doddle cos it was downhill all the way:rotfl: I now know I can do it, so that'll save me £7 in taxi fares as long as it's not raining.:T

Anyway, got to go, will pop back later.

Tru ((((((((((HUGS)))))))))) so sorry to hear about Daisy.

Hester Things will get better soon!:T

    Hi all

I'm jumping back on board with my mse and os ways :) Spent yesterday evening sorting out my finances and sorting out my diary ... needed to start planning ahead and feel much more organised and in control now :)

Haven't done any house work for far too long so am going to start flying again and head over to that thread now. I've discovered that you can save a group of pages as home pages on Mozilla, so when I open up my browser I can set it so the flylady thread, OS board and DFW boards all open up at same time (as well as bootcamp pg, netmums, fb and e-mail) that way I can start the day on a good note and get motivated every day instead of spending far too much time on fb!!!

OS wise today ... flying, meal planning, using up old apples.

Lunch - pasta & salad, Dinner - tom soup, b+b, hm apple crumble

Tru - not had chance to catch up on all the threads I've missed and may be totally off the mark but was Daisy a chicken? Mr Fox had 2 of mine a few months back :-( so sad because they are like pets and so quirky each with their own personality.

Hester - sorry to hear you're worrying and sending big hugs

Redruby - wow well done!! You've been a busy bee ... when you coming to do my house :-P

Hillstep - fab re getting up to see your Dad on scooter :-) How is he doing?

Heavenleigh - Welcome back :) I've not been about for a long time either but seriously need to get myself sorted and back on track again :-/

Molly - Will check that link out :-)

Sorry to anyone I've missed/crossposted and big hugs to anyone who wants/needs them.

    Luv Jet xx

Syman - shame, but glad you enjoyed!
Tappers - glad it's not vertigo for your OH, hope they sort him out soon

Sun is shining here :j. Hoping it stays sunny so I can go for a walk later after work.

It's my work kids last week this week. They are busy planning their presentation, they are all very nervous about speaking infront of people but I think they will be fine. On Friday we are going to a theme park as a treat. They have saved £2 a week to pay for their tickets, and we will treat them to an ice cream :).

Yesterday my boss gave me a free laundry basket (from the back of a lorry ;) not as dodgy as it sounds, her OH is a lorry driver and it was a job lot of damaged stock). It's not damaged, just a bit grubby so need to clean it tonight, mine is broken so it will come in handy!

OS wise - packed lunch made, dinner will be HM veggie chilli from freezer.

    Have a good day all
