The only problem is risk free, no such thing
...which is pretty much what everyone else said. I don't think anyone was suggesting that investing 20k and winding up with 100k was impossible - just that if there was an easy, risk-free way of doing it, most people would be much richer than they are...0 -
I could do £100k with £40k. Not risk free though. I'm saving up to do it so il let you know how it goes in 2 years.:eek:Living frugally at 24
Increase net worth £30k in 2016 : http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showthread.php?p=69797771#post697977710 -
I think it's possible, but you need a bright idea, a good business head, hard work, ability or some luck. Not all of these but some combination. It can depend where you start from.
This lad had nowhere near £20k and made millions.

A computer programmer could put themselves on a training course for the most recent/fashionable programming language. That wouldn't cost £20k, but contracting would pay upwards of £40 an hour. You'd need to do 2000 hours to earn £80k.0 -
I think you have to have a certain mentality and real will to succeed. Some people seem to have a knack for spotting openings and they'll have all sorts of ventures going before they've even left school.
It isn't so much the business idea or a particular product that will make you money but the determination to start and to carry it through.Don't mess with pensioners. :cool:0 -
