I don't really know what you want me to say?
When I was there, almost two weeks ago, they set the thing on the floor (which I guess acted as the "bottom") and chucked the guy's bag in.
I don't really know why you think I'm lying about this? What would I have to gain? That's what I saw, that's what I reported. Sorry if you don't like it.
ETA: based on the picture, I assume they were using the thing upside down...but I'm not the expert you are?0 -

I reckon that bag will be OK
They can be quite strict - they wander around at the gate with a cardboard sleeve that needs to drop over yourbag

Oh OK, when you put it like that.
Yes, you're right...I was lying! Bwahahaha!
It was just a fun ploy of mine, to try and get people charged for taking oversize bags on RyanAir flights! (in which I've no interest)
And I would've gotten away with it too, if it weren't for your meddling....0 -

I don't get why you think anyone is accusing you of lying. What Bob is saying is that *if* a staff member decides to lower the cardboard box on your bag, it is unlikely to fit. The fact that you would be able to squeeze your bag into the metal cage will then most likely be irrelevant.0 -

I told Bob what I saw.
Bob's kept on posting link after link to what I should have seen.
He also disputed what I saw:
"They hold the cardboard box with the handles at the top and lower it over the bag not drop it in"
What am I supposed to say?0 -
The only bag size thingy I've seen is one of these:
And no, I don't know her0 -

Yes, because he's trying to explain to you what could easily have happened. Using the cardboard box in the way you describe is not how they normally use it. As you suggested yourself, you got lucky.0 -

The cardboard box is a fairly new thing, at least I didn't notice it until recently and not on every route. I'm guessing they started using it to catch oversized items before they reach the front of the line and slows everything down.0 -

For some reason 55x40x20cm & 10kg seem to be the 4 most complicated numbers in the whole world to understand.0
