Is it possible to pay by cash for a return journey to and from Stanford-st johns?

    Stanmore - St Johns Wood

Don't think you can buy a return as such, but an off-peak Travelcard for zones 2-5 would be cheaper than two singles, and save you having to queue up for a ticket after the game. Paying in cash shouldn't be a problem.

Did some comparisons with travelling down to London by coach, car and train.

car = fuel would have cost me £40 to and from stanmore plus any extra for rail ticket to st johns wood
plus I took in the factor that im inexperienced in travelling by tube so could have got lost etc??? lol

train = looked at chilton, virgin and midlands and they came up high

coach = megabus was out of the question even though there prices are cheap, there are no suitable parking near the departure/collection point plus reviews on the service they provide is mix

1 adult & 1 child will cost me around £25 with national express
bham to park lane/marble arch. :j

will walk the remaining distance to the home of cricket

    :)

I go to Lords regularly and tend to use Warwick Avenue tube rather than St Johns Wood - certainly for going home afterwards. St Johns Wood gets very busy and they do keep you queueing outside at times, whereas Warwick Avenue is a lot quieter. More importantly, there are a couple of reasonable pubs between Lords and Warwick Avenue, and some shops, whereas there is nothing very much between Lords and St Johns Wood. Its a little bit further than SJW tube.

But only worth doing if you are parked at a suitable tube though.
