Hi all bit of advice needed, we have just had our bedroom totally striped, plastered, painted etc, now we are waiting for the delivery of our furniture but just wanted to sort what to do with the skirting, should we
a) skirt the whole room then put the furniture in
or
b) put the furniture in and skirt up to the furniture
or
c) something else???

If its not fitted furniture the answer is easy a)
If its fitted furniture (I guess it is or you wouldn't have asked) then b) is easier and cheaper. You might want to still skirt behind wardrobes if they have no backs.0 -
Let's say hypothetically, you have a square bedroom, 4 walls. Let's also say that you have a wardrobe that takes up one whole wall. Do you mean should you skirt behind it or skirt 3 walls and leave the remaining wall since it's hidden?
I'd just skirt the whole room. I have to do this in my living room thanks to the old stone fireplace that used to be there.0 -
I have 4 walls which are in a rectangle shape, the furniture is from MFI (schreiber thanks to Mr. T) and we have loads of furniture going in new bed with 2 single wardrobes either side, other wall has 2 wardrobes plus corner robe, then coming off the corner robe down the window wall is 2 double chests of drawers, now FIL thinks just skirt up to it as I'll never move the furniture as basically I have measured it up and it really would only ever fit in those places, so then it fits flush against the walls, but I don't know what it will look like. Argh I thought the stressful part was over, I want my bedroom back!! :rotfl:0

oh and the wardrobes have backs0

I would skirt the whole room and then put the furnitrure in afterwards.
if you ever change the furniture in the room afterwards it will look a bit silly in patches!!!:xmastree: :snow_laug Christmas Nutter :snow_laug:xmastree:0 -

*nods*
However, I do see your point about having it all flush but tbh, is it going to make that much of a difference? In reality, not really.0 -
just looked on the mfi website and the furniture is under fitted, does that make a difference??

My Sister has this furniture and they had to remove the skirts from behind the furniture and fix the furniture to the wall.0 -
