An update after my visit - I was very impressed with the place (even without the kiddies running around).. They have a good range of activities indoors and out, and themed rooms that they can go between as they want during their 'free' time. The open plan kitchen/dining looks super, so the children can interact during food preparation and even help out - when they're not busy cooking things for themselves (or helping themselves to milk or fruit that they are allowed at any time). The wall displays (which my wife wants to point out that she didn't get a chance first time around because the owners were too busy jabbering and she was paying attention to that!) were very good, and looking closely at them there was lots of involvement!
They are always happy to have the parent in, to have a look at what their tearaways are up to, plus the offer of a coffee in the morning means that there should be far more interaction with all the staff that what we have been used to. And they are always open to suggestion (though they siad that they have only had one, and that was to get a pony).
They are going to be buying some chickens today, and next month some rabbits (not to cook/eat, I should add!). They already have a fish tank.
A brilliant place, our son has a settling in session today and starting Thursday :)

I hope he enjoys his time there. It is always nice to be sending them to a place that you have checked out thoroughly and feel really happy with.

Once he turns 3 your son will qualify for the free 15 hours. The nursery should have forms to help you apply for this. It sounds like it is the sort of place that is likely to fill up fast. If you might wish to extend the amount of time he is there for, to incorporate these free hours, I would advise the nursery which days/times will be added when he is 3. Then you wont be put on a waiting list.
The best day of your life is the one on which you decide your life is your own, no apologies or excuses. No one to lean on, rely on or blame. The gift is yours - it is an amazing journey - and you alone are responsible for the quality of it. This is the day your life really begins.

Staying there for the free 15 hours... I wish. My wife knows more about it than I do, but I know there are no day nurseries in the area that are able to access the funding for the free hours... we will have to take him to either the school nursery or a playgroup - neither of which offer full day cover.
