Could you split them in the morning with you dropping the little one at the childminder and then your DH getting your son to school?

I'd do that or drop them both at the childminder. There's certainly more going on at the end of the school day that I'd want to be a part of imo.

I just think DH wouldn't cope to well sorting both out in the morning which would result in a bad start to the day.[/QUOTE]

What's to sort out? Uniform can be laid out the night before, including underwear, socks, etc..., bag packed, packed lunch (if needed) prepared, any letters, money, etc.. put in bags. You can even put a bowl ready, cereal on the table, and so on. All these extra bits just make the mornings run a bit, well alot, smoother. After that, either you can trust your DH to be able to cope, or he's got a bit of manning up to do. It's not rocket science.

And it looks like we made it once again
Yes it looks like we made it to the end
  • There is a breakfast club that starts at 7.30 but he won't be able to access that until next year.

  • I think splitting the drop off is a good idea - we do some of the night before prep already.

    Thanks for the responses

  • Pick up, always - it's relaxed and happy, not stressed and rushing.

I personally went drop off with mine because I could guarantee that. Many occasions when they were being picked up and I/we were later than I/we intended to be.
The start time was fixed for all of us but the ending was sometimes up in the air and it is horrible knowing you should be at school but you're still racing around trying to get there.
Having said that, if your times are fixed then I would definitely collect.
Sadly, you don't have any badges yet but keep trying! See what you could get........... oh boo hoo I am crying into my wine. :D

I drop the kids off at school/nursery, and collection is done by a childminder three days a week and hubby the other two. It means that I absolutely cannot get into work any earlier than 9:30 AM, unless I make a special arrangement, and I miss out on the free breakfast that my company gives to those who make it in before 8:30 AM, but it works well enough for us.

Not always possible, my money is vital to our household.

I tend to drop off, and my father picks up, or DD goes to the after school club.

DD is very tardy about getting ready in the morning, if we had to go in even earlier for b'fast club I don't think we'd make it !

Alternatively, you could instil in your children a good work-ethic and teach them about all the different ways they can make valuable contributions to society and the economy.
