    Morning all

Terrific thunderstorm this morning with torrential rain. DH slept through the lot.

DH has had a shower and is hovering around the downstairs computer hoping to Skype with DD.

Me-I'm lounging in our new bed with the lappie!

Had a lovely haircut yesterday which I am really pleased with. OH has suggested I have it coloured again. Trouble is it gets really dry when I do that. I usually have a t section with foils and some mixed colours as the back of my head is not so grey/white.What is he trying to tell me?

Yesterday evening we went to a friend's house overlooking Ashton Court to see the balloons. They didn't go up due to wind but we saw the nightglow and the fireworks and had a lovely time sitting in the patio in the evening sunshine- very OS

    Today...? don't know.

Oh gotta go as I can hear DD on skype downstairs. Byee

    Morning all,
Dull here too,v breezy but warmish. We were out last night at a wetting babies head BBq :D.It was lovely, held at the new GParents house. She is a fantastic cook, there was loads of food(apparently she bought 20 kg of chicken legs )beef, lamb, salmon ,seabass ,prawns as well as the usual burgers & sausages. Not a lot left at the end though. The baby was lovely, and when I think of how big DGD is at 10 months now and was a similar weight,it really hits home how much development goes on so quickly. The parents and GPs seemed to really appreciate the cards I made for them,so that was time well spent:)
I have got one of the halfprice beef joints from MrS,thats in the sc,so thats an easy tea.No special plans for today yet,but hope everyone has a good'un.

  • Morning Guys!

I have such a bad headache and it actually woke me through the night. Also have a sore throat and earache, so hoping I'm not coming down with anything as temperature a little raised. Drinking loads.

We have a small (Halal) chicken for dinner with roasted potatoes, hm yorkshire pudding (frozen), carrot/swede mash, cabbage and peas. The small 1.1kg halal chicken was £1.60 as they were on BOGOF a few weeks back. Only small, but it'll do a roast today, 1 sandwich tomorrow and scraps for the dog. Hopefully will get the rhubarb done today as it wasn't done yesterday.

Dogs bed and blanket has all been washed and dried on the line. He's staying with friends next week, so it all smells nice and fresh for them. He's doing really well and is over 2 now:eek::eek:..where does the time go? He's a good boy and has been my constant companion whilst I've been so ill. They're not supposed to be lap dogs but I taught him hand signals when he was a puppy and I do one for "cuddle" and he always jumps up when I ask him and lays next to me or tries to lay across me but he's too heavy:D

    Anyway, Im rambling. Take care.

The glorious 12th has been cancelled to the 13th because it falls on a sunday . Good news for the grouse !

Off to enrol Luna and me into dog training this morning.

    Good afternoon redruby and all,

Where has the sun gone? I'm sitting here wearing a pair of jeans and a jumper cause i am cold. I dodged the rain a few minutes ago to do the usual garden duties and the grass is waterlogged.

Ive spent part of my morning messaging my daughter in South Africa, then we progressed to Skype. She is so far away but Skype closes the distance between us. The babies she and her partner are fostering are so tiny. I wish i could be there to help her.

Number 1 son popped in to borrow a drill bit off his Dad. He looks well and happy i am pleased to say. As a child he always had a smile on his face and to see the smile on his face again makes me so happy.

Since i am banished to the office for the next few hours, i am going to spend an hour or two looking at bungalows by the sea on Rightmove.

    Happy Sunday all,

My compost seems to finally be doing well! It is starting to actually look like it might become usable!

I made a pie yesterday. My first try and it turned out quite well. Yum!

I am planning my handmade Christmas gift projects and also trying to figure out how to improve my garden for next year. Other than the courgettes nothing has really survived.

    Afternoon all

I've had a productive day so far :). As the weather is crap - rain/winds/cloudy with a teeny bit of sun occasionally, I decided to have a cookathon so I made:
    - big batch of veggie chilli (4 portions),
    - HFW River Cottage Veg stuffed cabbage leaves (3 portions)
    - marinated and cooked big block of tofu to use in stirfry and lunches this week
    - chopped veg to use in stirfry for tomorrow
    - made salad for lunch tomorrow

Phew! I'll cook the cabbage leaves for tea and freeze the rest. I've also sorted out my bedside cabinets (they were full of junk!), put the laundry away and washed the dishes twice!

Going to make cheese rolls for lunch and then sit and watch some Sunday afternoon tv I think.
