Always make me laugh when they ask if i want a review. Not sure why i would want a review from a bank that got into millions of pounds of debt, when ive never been in debt by a penny. Dont see what they could help me with really

I had a review booked for a few weeks ago, just as the RBS kerfuffle happened, which meant our pay was about 5 days late in going in, and no standing orders were paid. I phoned up to cancel it because I was in a bit of a huff, but they phoned me at home last Saturday afternoon to book another one - I said I wasnt interested. They're quite persistant.

I had a fun one with Barclays last week who decided to cold call. I didn't have anything better to do so I agreed to the call, after causing them inconvenience by asking them to prove who they were (I stretched it out for a good number of minutes, at first they couldn't confirm anything, but we eventually spoon fed each other small amounts of information)

    and then it came.
"It doesn't seem like this is your main account".
"Theres no incentive to use it as my main account. Banking elsewhere gives me 3% interest, £5/month and free travel cover."
"Oh ok, do you have any savings?"
"Yes, and I get 3.2% on them, can you do better?"
"Uh, no. Thats a very good rate. Do you have a credit card ?"
"Yes, I have 4, one of which gives me 3% cashback. "
"We can offer a balance transfer deal, would you be interested?"
"Not really, the highest balance I've got at the moment is about £30"
    "Well thanks for your time"

Not sure why but Halifax never ring me now. Havent told them to stop, but used to get calls every few month about a credit card deal or a review. They must have given up

I aksed a friend of my about this and his reply was that he thought that the ATM's inside the bank were for customers of that bank only and wouldn't be 'link' machines meaning that his card wouldn't work in them.

Wrong , I know, but maybe lots of people assume the same?
