Thanks L2B will definitely look in to this once I've got my head back above water but at the mom want to chuck everything I've got at my debts to minimize the interest which is ridiculously high (over 25%!!!) but because credit rating not great don't think I'll be able to tart them.
I've had an e-mail from new gas and electric supplier saying that they'll need a security deposit but it does say how much so have e-mailed asking.
I've borrowed £100 from family until a cheque clears so that I will hopefully avoid any further bank charges for beginning of Oct.
Promptly took off another cars wing mirror today ... could have driven off but stopped, found the owner and left my details.
Sold a pair of shoes for £4 ... better than nothing.
Off to pick up DD1 after first day at senior school ... gulp!!JUST DO IT ONE BRICK AT A TIMEPROUD TO BE DEALING WITH MY DEBTSWeekly Budget: groceries£50/petrol£50/Unnecesary£15DEBT PAID = 58% (£4,212/£8216):T0 -
DD2 telling me she needed new school shoes ready for first day back. I've dug out her old ones and they still fit fine and just need a good polish. I would have normally automatically bought her new ones for the beginning of school year, but price of some black polish is going to be substantially less than a new pair of shoesJUST DO IT ONE BRICK AT A TIMEPROUD TO BE DEALING WITH MY DEBTSWeekly Budget: groceries£50/petrol£50/Unnecesary£15DEBT PAID = 58% (£4,212/£8216):T0

I used to always get hammered with the bank charges until I was told that my bank - lloyds tab - have a control facility. Basically you call them and explain your situation and if they agree you are in a bit of a pickle the control facility is free for 6 months. If they dont agree you can still have it but it will cost you £10 a month. Its the best thing I ever did.
The control means you dont get charged if you go overdrawn, neither do you get charged if direct debits bounce back unpaid. Also if your account doenst have enough money you cant use your card. Prior to this I was being charged every month nearly and found it hard to get back on track as the charges meant I didnt have enough money to pay the bills and so on. Now I know I am safe from banki charges its great !0 -
Lloydstsb have written to me saying that they've charged too much interest and are refunding £5.05.
Electricity/gas bill received and over £60 in credit :j
Plus a lovely lovely friend dropped me in LOADS of shopping today!! I'm just trying to find a freecycle freezer because haven't got one at the mo and I could cook and freeze lots and make it last a lot longer than if I just cook it.
Also been reading the MSE Debt and Mental Health guide ... never occurred to me that my debt could e linked to depression/anxiety. I posted on the DFW board about it (thread called "Spending Money to make you Feel Better") and if anyone else suffers from anything like this I'd recommend going over and having a look because there have been some really lovely, helpful posters and many who are in the same boat.JUST DO IT ONE BRICK AT A TIMEPROUD TO BE DEALING WITH MY DEBTSWeekly Budget: groceries£50/petrol£50/Unnecesary£15DEBT PAID = 58% (£4,212/£8216):T0 -
Hi,
Not been around for a little while but trying to keep on track. I'm off for a "girlie" day with my Mum tomorrow and worried that I'm going to be around lots of shops and sales and want to spend money I shouldn't!!I haven't got any cash so will need to take the card ... I have already spent this weeks treat budget taking the kids to a ball pool so can't spend that
and am wondering about whether it would be really bad to allow myself an extra £15 tomorrow to get something for me rather than kids
Have meal planned this week, airer broken so not been hanging washing out , kettle broken so been saving electric :rotfl:, went for a run yesterday and planning on going again fri a.m. cos it's free exercise :T, to-do list long but just doing what I can cope with as and when I feel able to
Hope everyone's had a good day :beer:JUST DO IT ONE BRICK AT A TIMEPROUD TO BE DEALING WITH MY DEBTSWeekly Budget: groceries£50/petrol£50/Unnecesary£15DEBT PAID = 58% (£4,212/£8216):T0 -

Hi,
Well ... not sure quite how things are going!! What I do know though is that I found I had drifted back to spending more time on fb and less on here!! Sooooo I've decided that I will monitor the time I spend on there and only log on to do "something" e.g. promote business, check messages ... not to get carried away scrolling through !!!!!!
I've planned every day after school and stuck list up on the wall in the kitchen so the kids can see it easily (at their eye levels) I've even colour coded it to make it more user friendly so there are no excuses :T That way lunch boxes should always be made and if they are they get hot dinners on a Friday.
Need to boost income substantially so going to set time aside to do as much free advertising every day as poss and do an 80/20 audit on business.
Have got to do repairs on house asap that have been quoted at nearly £500 which I haven't got atm
Final thought ... going to try and watch Russell Howard or Mrs Brown every day cos they make me happy and happy is good
Luv Jet x
PS mislaid work mobile!!! Will order new sim tomorrow if it's still not turned up but due upgrade on it in Feb so don't want to buy new one. Will see if can get upgrade early, but if not post on fb selling sites locally as "wanted - any old mobile as long as it works"JUST DO IT ONE BRICK AT A TIMEPROUD TO BE DEALING WITH MY DEBTSWeekly Budget: groceries£50/petrol£50/Unnecesary£15DEBT PAID = 58% (£4,212/£8216):T0
