Cheaper to Fly to USA July or August and best carrier

Looking to book flights for next year doing a multi centre, flying into San Francisco, going to LA and flying out of vegas.
I noticed a massive price hike for first two weeks of July. The flights are not out yet but is it the same price the end of August or does it go down in price? We can fly anytime in July or August but must return by the start of the school year in September.
Also for economy flights are there any airlines better than the others. I woud be looking for extra legroom seats, can't afford business maybe able to push to Premium
Thanks!

July is peak season for that area which means expect to pay approx £800+ for an economy flight.. Premium economy could be well over a £1000.
Usually with airlines a cheaper ticket with a stop will be the cheapest. Direct flights will be expensive. Virgin and BA do flights out of LHR to LAX and back from LAS to LHR. Manchester and Gatwick are also options if you wish to fly direct.0 -
I have flown to Vegas the last 2 years in August and the flight prices went down dramatically leaving the UK after The 23rd of Aug (or thereabouts)0

Thanks both for your info
I was thinking Virgin or Ba, other options I guess are United or American Airways
Anyone have any experience of these?0 -
Or Delta or US Air .......or any number of European carriers or even Air Canada.
I've done Vegas and LA in August -it's a nasty heat if you can go earlier or later you'll get better weather and better fares.I Would Rather Climb A Mountain Than Crawl Into A Hole
MSE Florida wedding .....no problem0 -
If you're actually in Wales a good route would be Cardiff to Amsterdam (KLM Delta code share) then on to the US too.I Would Rather Climb A Mountain Than Crawl Into A Hole

it has to be July or August to celebrate (!) i hope sons GCSES0

I'll check out the route to Amsterdam but didn't want to go indirect really0

I think for Premium Economy you're pretty much tied to BA or Virgin.Don't lie, thieve, cheat or steal. The Government do not like the competition.

I'm sorry, I don't apologise. That's just the way I am. Homer (Simpson)0 -

Just to say do you really want to go to Vegas with a 16 year old when he wont be allowed in most places?
I went when I was 19, and I didnt mind because I went shopping all day, and the rest of the time sunbathing. Not sure if a 16 year old boy would be up for that though? I guess there are the rollercoasters but you can do that better in LA.
Anyway if you do want to go, Id go as late Aug as you can. And wait til the flight sales in Sept to start looking properly.0
