How to set up an additional tv to run Freeview

Options
We have a Virgin media cable account for our tv and broadband. The tv is run via a V+ box in our front room where the cable comes in. (Internet access is via a Virgin superhub in our home office).

Recently we were clearing out our son's room (since he left home) and found buried under papers in one corner, his perfectly good small tv. We should like to install and use this in our kitchen diner. We also have a Panasonic EMR box which includes Freeview, currently not in use, plus we have roof aerial which has not been used since we went over to cable.

Would it be possible to set up the son's TV to work with the Freeview box and roof aerial and how would you recommend doing this?

It's really just a question of getting a cable from the roof aerial run to the place in the kitchen diner where you want to site the TV.
Time has moved on (much quicker than it used to - or so it seems at my age) and my previous advice on residential telephony has been or is now gradually being overtaken by changes in the retail market. Hence, I have now deleted links to my previous 'pearls of wisdom'. I sincerely hope they helped save some of you money.

Plug the roof aerial into the Panasonic and connect it via scart to the telly.
Do check if the TV already has a Freeview decoder, though, as then you only need to plug the aerial into the television.

Do note that the TV aerial may no longer be in suitable condition if it has been several years since you went over to cable.

Also note that Virgin can arrange a second cable decoder (at extra subscription cost, of course) which duplicates your main sub.
